Norwegian Television
Television in Norway was Timeline of the introduction of television in countries, introduced in 1954, but the first television program was only shown in 1958, and regular broadcasts did not start until 1960. Like Denmark, Norway had only one television channel until the 1980s. Some 40% of the population have Cable television, cable TV, and 30% have Satellite television, satellite TV. Another 30% have terrestrial television only. In Norway, all advertising containing political messages and advertising aimed at children are prohibited. Channels such as TV3 (Norway), TV3 are allowed to broadcast commercial breaks, as these channels are being broadcast via satellite from the United Kingdom. Katrine Moholt
Katrine Moholt (born 21 September 1973 in Nannestad) is a Norwegian television personality and singer. She started her television career in TV Romerike in 1997, and was hired in TV 2 i 2001. She first hosted some small shows ''Gjett hva jeg gjør'' and ''Tre gode naboer'', but later took over ''Jakten på kjærligheten'' which became a long-running show. She has also hosted the televised live singalong show ''Allsang på Grensen''. In 2004 she was awarded the ''Se og Hør'' readers' TV personality of the year award. In 2006 she won the first edition of ''Skal vi danse?'', Norway's ''Dancing with the Stars''. In 2008 she debuted with the musical album ''Sweethearts'', which received bad reviews (" die throws") in the media, but sold well. After only four days it received a music recording sales certification, the "gold record". Skal Vi Danse?
''Skal vi danse'' is the Norwegian edition of the British television series, '' Strictly Come Dancing''. It is produced by Monster Entertainment and broadcast on TV 2 Jon Peder Olrud and Geir Bie were producers in the first season. The second and third seasons were produced by Ingvild Daae. The series premiered on TV 2 on January 15, 2006. ''Skal vi danse?'' in Norwegian means "shall we dance?" and the Dancing celebrities with professional dancers and companies are reviewed by a panel of judges and the TV viewers. Each pair consists of a celebrity and a professional dancer and the one with the fewest votes does not participate in the next round. The series has had high ratings in Norway, with an average of between 600,000 and 700,000 viewers. The record with 733,000 viewers on average in the season premiere was reached for the first program of series 4 (12 September 2008). Only the final episodes of each series have had higher numbers. Aleksander Denstad With
Aleksander Denstad With (born 30 June 1987 in Trondheim) is a Norwegian who won season 4 of the TV show ''Idol'' in May 2006, becoming the youngest person ever to win the competition. Aleksander released his first album, titled 'Coming Home', on 23 October 2006. The album was a major success and peaked at #4 on the Top 40 Norwegian Albums Chart upon release. So far, "A Little Too Perfect", "The Other Side" and "Free Ride" have been released as singles from the album. On 1 December 2007, Aleksander performed alongside Norwegian Pop-Rock artist, Marion Raven, at the Norwegian "Idol Gives Back" show. Pre-Idol WimpyLime were an unsigned project Aleksander and his former girlfriend, Vivian Sørmeland (who came third in Idol (Norway) Season 4) were a part of from the summer of 2004 until Idol in 2006. Idol (Norway Season 4)
''Idol: Jakten på en superstjerne 2006'' was the fourth season of Idol Norway based on the British singing competition '' Pop Idol''. It premiered one year after the third season and was aired in the first half of 2006. Kåre Magnus Bergh remained as the co-host of Solveig Kloppen who was pregnant during the show. Between March 3 and April 27 she was replaced by the following (in order of appearance): Berte Rommetveit, Guri Solberg, Sandra Lyng Haugen, Marion Ravn and Silje Stang who each hosted one show next to Bergh. Idol (Norwegian TV Series)
''Idol - Jakten på en superstjerne'' is a television show on the Norwegian television channel TV 2, based on the popular British show ''Pop Idol''. The show describes itself as a "Search For A SuperStar". The contestants are first narrowed down to 100 contestants, and then down to 24-50 through several auditions and tests by a panel of judges. From this point on, the viewers decide who are in and who are out, and the judges limit themselves to commenting. TV viewers being what they are, the votes are based not solely on the singers vocal performance, but also on his or her looks, clothes, entertainment value, and other factors. In the first four seasons the agelimit for participation was 16–28 years old. In season five it was changed to 16–35. Big Brother (Sweden And Norway)
The Sweden and Norway joint edition of ''Big Brother'' is a reality show shown on Kanal 5 in Sweden, and FEM in Norway, in which a number of contestants live in an isolated house trying to avoid being evicted by the public with the aim of winning a large cash prize at the end of the run. It is based on the '' Big Brother'' series produced by Endemol. From 2000 on, seasons of Big Brother were shown in both Norway and Sweden and in both countries the show enjoyed very high ratings, so high that eventually the production teams of both began thinking about joining to make one Big Brother show for both countries. Kristian Ødegård
Kristian Ødegård (born 12 April 1974) is a Norwegian television personality. He contributed to the film ''Get Ready to be Boyzvoiced'' in 2000, and later cooperated with Espen Eckbo and/or Henrik Elvestad in the mock reality show ''Nissene på låven'' (2001), the mock game show ''TV 2-nøttene'' and the mock talk show ''Tonight med Timothy Dale''. Ødegaard presented ''Nissene på låven'' and ''TV 2-nøttene'', the latter as a parody of Roald Øyen known from the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation programs ''Julenøtter'' and ''Påskenøtter''. Ødegaard and Eckbo ran the production company Seefood TV, Seefood. In 2006 he won the second season of ''Skal vi danse?'', Norway's ''Dancing with the Stars''.
