2006 National Cycling Championships ...
Most of the 2006 national road cycling championships took place in June, although there were a few exceptions such as the Australian and American championships which take place in January and September respectively. Jerseys The winner of each national championship wears the national jersey in all their races for the next year in the respective discipline, apart from the World Championships. The jerseys tend to represent the countries' flag or use the colours from it. 2006 National Champions Note: In some cases the U23 champion is the highest placed U23 rider in the elite men's race. Niko Eeckhout (born 16 December 1970) is a Belgian former professional road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 1992 and 2013. He was the 2005–2006 UCI Europe Tour series and the 2006 Belgian National Cycling Championship Road Race champion, and currently works for the Team as a coach. Career Born in Izegem, Eeckhout started his career in 1993 riding for the small Collstrop-team. He immediately started winning minor Belgian races like the Championship of Flanders and the Omloop Mandel-Leie-Schelde. In 1997 and 1998 he rode for , and then rode two years for Palmans. Eeckhout had a breakthrough season when he transferred to Lotto-Adecco in 2001, winning 11 races, including Dwars door Vlaanderen and the GP van Steenbergen. Eeckhout struggled through the next two seasons and at the end of 2004 his contract with Lotto-Adecco ended and he needed to find a new team. Branislau Samoilau ( be, Браніслаў Самойлаў; born 25 May 1985) is a Belarusian road bicycle racer, who rides for Belarusian amateur team . Career Born in Vitebsk, Samoilau competed professionally for between 2007 and 2008, a brief stint for in 2009, for in 2009 and 2010, the in 2011 and 2012 and between 2014 and 2017. Samoilau won the Belarusian National Road Race Championships in 2007. He was national time trial champion of Belarus in 2009, 2010 and 2012.
