2006 Jacksonville Jaguars Season
The 2006 Jacksonville Jaguars season was the franchise's 12th season in the National Football League and the 4th under head coach Jack Del Rio. The Jaguars failed to improve on their 12–4 record from 2005. The Jaguars finished in third place in the AFC South and finished the season at 8–8. Although the Jaguars were 8–5 after thirteen games, they lost their next three games in a row and missed the postseason for the second time in three seasons. AFC South
The American Football Conference – Southern Division or AFC South is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It was created before the 2002 NFL season, 2002 season when the league realigned divisions after expanding to 32 teams. Brent Hawkins
Brent Lee Hawkins (born September 1, 1983) is a former American football defensive end who played 2 years in the National Football League and 2 years in the Canadian Football League, until retiring from football in May 2013. He was most recently a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fifth round of the 2006 NFL Draft. Kennedy Polamalu (born November 22, 1963) is an American football coach and former player who currently is the running backs coach for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He most recently served as the running backs coach for the Minnesota Vikings. He was the offensive coordinator for the UCLA Bruins. Prior to that he was the offensive coordinator for the USC Trojans. Kenneth Allan Anderson (born February 15, 1949) is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL), spending his entire career with the Cincinnati Bengals. Carl Hamilton Smith (born April 26, 1948) is an American football coach who is the associate head coach for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL). He had previously served as quarterbacks coach of the Cleveland Browns and offensive coordinator for the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans Saints. J. Wayne Weaver (born January 14, 1935) is an American businessman. He owns the shoe store chains Shoe Carnival and Nine West, and was the first owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL) from 1993 to 2011. The 2005 Florida Gators football team represented the University of Florida in the sport of American football during the 2005 college football season. A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. The 2005 Syracuse Orange football team represented Syracuse University during the 2005 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Orange were coached by first-year head coach Greg Robinson and played their home games at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York. In 2015, Syracuse vacated the one win from this season among others from the 2004 to 2006 seasons following an eight-year NCAA investigation, as the NCAA found that some football players who committed academic fraud participated in the wins.
