2006 Danmark Rundt
The 2006 Danmark Rundt was a men's road bicycle race held from 2 to 6 August 2006. Swiss rider Fabian Cancellara of Team CSC captured the overall title. It was the 16th edition of the men's stage race, which was established in 1985. Stages Stage 1: Frederikshavn–Viborg, Denmark (210 km) The 2006 Danmark Rundt started in Frederikshavn and the first stage took the riders across Vendsyssel before turning south towards Viborg. This was also the race's longest stage. Route: Frederikshavn–Hjørring– Løkken–Brovst–Løgstør–Farsø–Gedsted–Skals–Viborg, ending with 2 laps of 4.5 km. Results This meant that Aitor Galos Alonso lead the general classification, as well as the point classification. Fabian Cancellara
Fabian Cancellara (born 18 March 1981), nicknamed "Spartacus", is a Swiss cycling executive, businessman and former professional road racing cyclist who last rode for UCI ProTeam . He was born in Wohlen bei Bern, Switzerland. Cancellara began road cycling after falling in love with an old bike at the age of thirteen. After that, he began to take the sport more seriously and won two consecutive World Junior Time Trial Championships in 1998 and 1999. At age nineteen he turned professional and signed with the team, where he rode as a ''stagiaire''. He is known for being a quality time trialist, a one-day classics specialist, and a workhorse for his teammates who have general classification aspirations. Løgstør
Løgstør is a town in Denmark with a population of 3,967 (1 January 2022) It is located 47 km west of Aalborg and 64 km north of Viborg. Løgstør's city centre consists of old streets with small houses built in the 1800s for fishermen and sailors. Alex Nicki Rasmussen (born 9 June 1984) is a Danish former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2009 and 2016 for the , , , , and teams. Ariel Maximiliano Richeze Araquistain (born 7 March 1983) is an Argentine professional cyclist, who competed as a professional from 2006 until January 2023.
