2006 Cleveland Indians Season
The 2006 Cleveland Indians season was the 106th season for the franchise. It began with the Cleveland Indians attempting to win the AL Central and make the playoffs. The Indians finished with a mediocre 78-84 record and missed the playoffs. It was the final season before Progressive bought the naming rights to then-Jacobs Field. American League Central
The American League Central is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. This division was formed in the realignment of 1994 by moving three teams from the American League West and two teams from the American League East. Its teams are all located in the Midwestern United States. Along with the National League East, the AL Central is one of two divisions in the Major Leagues in which all of its members have won a World Series title. Matt Underwood
Matt Underwood is an American sportscaster currently serving as the television play-by-play announcer for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). Broadcasting career Prior to joining the Guardians broadcast team on a full-time basis in 2000, Underwood spent 10 years at WEWS-TV 5 in Cleveland (ABC). Underwood joined WEWS as an associate sports producer after graduating from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1990. In December 1994, Underwood was named as a sports producer/reporter. During this time, he also worked for WKNR Radio (then at 1220 AM) as an update anchor and weekend show host. Fernando José Cabrera (born November 16, 1981) is a Puerto Rican former professional baseball relief pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cleveland Indians, Baltimore Orioles, and Boston Red Sox. Andrew Aaron Brown (born February 17, 1981) is a former professional baseball relief pitcher. He has played parts of three seasons in Major League Baseball for the Cleveland Indians and Oakland Athletics. Rafael Jose Betancourt (born April 29, 1975) is a Venezuelan former professional baseball relief pitcher. Daniel James Nava (born February 22, 1983) is an American former professional baseball left fielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Boston Red Sox, Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Angels, Kansas City Royals, and Philadelphia Phillies. Adam Wainwright
Adam Parrish Wainwright (born August 30, 1981), nicknamed "Waino" and "Uncle Charlie", is an American professional baseball pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB). In baseball, an at bat (AB) or time at bat is a batter's turn batting against a pitcher. An at bat is different from a plate appearance. Home Run
In baseball, a home run (abbreviated HR) is scored when the ball is hit in such a way that the batter is able to circle the bases and reach home plate safely in one play without any errors being committed by the defensive team. A home run is usually achieved by hitting the ball over the outfield fence between the foul poles (or hitting either foul pole) without the ball touching the field. Kevin Kouzmanoff (born July 25, 1981) is an American former professional baseball third baseman. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cleveland Indians, San Diego Padres, Oakland Athletics, Colorado Rockies and Texas Rangers.
