2005–06 Reading F.C. Season
The 2005–06 season was Reading's 135th year in existence and fourth consecutive season in the Championship, since their promotion from the Second Division in 2002, and covers the period from 1 July 2005 to 30 June 2006. Reading finished the season as Champions, winning promotion to the Premier League for the first time, and registered the highest points total gained in a professional league season with 106, bettering the previous record held by Sunderland by 1 point. Premier League
The Premier League (legal name: The Football Association Premier League Limited) is the highest level of the men's English football league system. Andrew Hughes (footballer, Born 1978)
Andrew John Hughes (born 2 January 1978 in Manchester) is an English footballer who is a first team coach for club Norwich City. Known for his versatility, his main position is as a central midfielder, but he also played regularly at fullback during his career. Hughes played over 100 games for each of Notts County, Reading and Leeds United. Playing career Hughes began his career at Oldham Athletic making 44 appearances scoring once before joining Notts County, where he made 130 appearances scoring 18 times. At Notts County Hughes helped earn them the Division Three championship. Brentford is a suburban town in West London, England and part of the London Borough of Hounslow. It lies at the confluence of the River Brent and the Thames, west of Charing Cross. Lloyd Owusu
Lloyd Magnus Owusu (born 12 December 1976) is a retired professional footballer who last played for Hakoah Sydney City East in the NSW State League Division One, Sydney, Australia. After a move from non-League Slough Town, his career took off at Brentford, where he scored 64 goals in 163 league games between 1998 and 2002. He then moved to Sheffield Wednesday, and two years later transferred to Reading following a short loan spell. He returned to Brentford in 2005, and two years later signed with Yeovil Town. In 2008, he moved to Cheltenham Town, and also had a loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion the following year. In 2009, he moved Australia to play for Adelaide United, but left the club in December 2010. Paul Brooker
Paul Brooker (born 25 November 1976) is an English retired professional footballer who played as a winger in the Football League for Fulham, Brighton & Hove Albion, Leicester City, Reading and Brentford. Career Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion (1995–2003) Able to play on either wing, Brooker began his career as a schoolboy at Chelsea, before joining the youth system at West London rivals Fulham. He turned professional in 1995 and broke through into the first team during the 1996–97 season. He was a part of the team which secured promotion to the Second Division in May 1997. Nicholas Michael Forster (born 8 September 1973) is a former professional footballer who was most recently the manager of Staines Town. Forster has also been player-manager at Brentford and manager of Dover Athletic. Bas Savage
Basir Mohammed Savage (born 7 January 1982 in London) is an English former professional footballer who plays as a striker for South Park. Career Starting out at Reading Savage started his professional career at Reading in 2002 after moving from non-League club Walton & Hersham, where, after a very promising start, he was struck by a career threatening injury that kept him out of the game for almost a year. After Reading appointed Steve Coppell as manager, Savage struggled to get a place back in the team, and was used as a utility midfielder, often playing on the right wing. Richard Adrian Newman (born 5 August 1970) is an English football coach and former professional footballer who played as a utility player. He notably played in the Premier League for Crystal Palace for several seasons and in the Football League for Millwall, Reading, Brentford and Aldershot Town. Described as a "tough tackler", he also played non-League football for Maidstone United and Cranleigh.
