2005–06 Plymouth Argyle F.C. Season
Plymouth Argyle competed in the Football League Championship in the 2005–06 season, having finished 17th place in the season prior. They underwent a change in their manager, replacing Bobby Williamson with Tony Pulis in the hope of seeing an improvement to the previous season. The "Green Army" finished 14th in the league and made it to the 3rd round of the FA Cup. Argyle regrouped under Pulis and regained a solid place in the middle of the league standings. The team's performance was one of contrasts. Argyle conceded only 46 goals, which made it the fifth (tied) best defense in the league although they only scored 39 goals, which made it the third (tied) worst attack in the league. John Alexander "Jocky" Scott (born 14 January 1948) is a Scottish football coach and former player. During his playing career he played for Dundee, Aberdeen, Seattle Sounders and Scotland. An extensive management career followed with spells at Aberdeen, Dundee (three separate spells), Arbroath, Dunfermline Athletic, Notts County, Raith Rovers and Stirling Albion. Mickey Evans (footballer, Born 1973)
Michael James "Mickey" Evans (born 1 January 1973) is a former professional footballer who played as a forward. He spent most of his career with Plymouth Argyle, for whom he scored 73 goals in 384 appearances in the Football League. He also played in the Premier League for Southampton and the Football League for West Bromwich Albion, Bristol Rovers and Torquay United. Ákos Buzsáky (born 7 May 1982) is a Hungarian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Keith William Robert Lasley (born 21 September 1979) is a Scottish retired football midfielder, who is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Scottish Premiership club St Mirren. Lilian Bernard Pierre Nalis (born 29 September 1971) is a French former professional footballer who is currently assistant manager Ligue 1 club of RC Lens. Rufus Brevett (born 24 September 1969) is an English football manager and former professional footballer. As a player, he was a defender who notably played in the Premier League for Queens Park Rangers, Fulham and West Ham United. He was part of the Fulham team that won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2002. Anthony Barness (born 25 February 1973) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender from 1991 until 2011. He notably played in the Premier League for Chelsea, Charlton Athletic and Bolton Wanderers and in the Football League for Middlesbrough, Southend United and Plymouth Argyle. Romain Larrieu (born 31 August 1976) is a French former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper, most notably in the Football League for Plymouth Argyle.
