2005–06 Luton Town F.C. Season
The 2005–06 season was the 120th season in the history of Luton Town Football Club, and the club's 85th consecutive year in the Football League. This was the club's first season in the second tier of English football since the 1995–96 season. Mike Newell's Luton side made a strong start to the season, topping the table after the first three games and staying in the play-off places until mid-December. However, a poor second half to the season saw Luton eventually slip down the table to finish in tenth place, albeit above more-fancied sides such as Southampton and Leicester City. Striker Steve Howard was Luton's top goalscorer for the fifth season running, scoring 15 goals in total, despite playing parts of the campaign as a makeshift centre-back following injuries to most of the Luton defence. Luton Town F
Luton () is a town and unitary authority with borough status, in Bedfordshire, England. At the 2011 census, the Luton built-up area subdivision had a population of 211,228 and its built-up area, including the adjacent towns of Dunstable and Houghton Regis, had a population of 258,018. It is the most populous town in the county, from the County Towns of Hertford, from Bedford and from London. The town is situated on the River Lea, about north-north-west of London. Carlos Edwards
Akenhaton Carlos Edwards CM (born 24 October 1978) is a Trinidadian former professional footballer who plays as a winger or right-back for Bury Town. He started his footballing career in Trinidad and Tobago before moving to Wrexham in 2000 for whom he made over 150 appearances. He went on to play for Luton Town, Sunderland, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Ipswich Town and Millwall. The Trinidad and Tobago national football team, nicknamed the " Soca Warriors", represents the twin-island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in international football. Wrexham A
Wrexham ( ; cy, Wrecsam; ) is a city and the administrative centre of Wrexham County Borough in Wales. It is located between the Welsh mountains and the lower Dee Valley, near the border with Cheshire in England. David Bayliss
David Anthony Bayliss (born 8 June 1976) is an English football scout. He previously played in defence, and was manager at Barrow. Career Born in Liverpool, Merseyside, Bayliss joined Rochdale and progressed through the ranks, making his Football League debut in the 1994–95 season. He went on to make 186 league appearances for them, scoring nine times, before joining Luton Town during 2001–02. He spent four seasons at Kenilworth Road, making 37 league appearances and also had nine games on loan to Chester City before being released in the summer of 2005. He spent the next season with Wrexham making 22 league appearances and he also had a four-game loan spell back at Rochdale. Lee Mansell
Lee Richard Samuel Mansell (born 23 September 1982) is an English former professional footballer who played for Luton Town, Nuneaton Borough, Oxford United, Torquay United and Bristol Rovers. He was most recently the first team manager of National League North club Gloucester City. Career Mansell was born in Gloucester and began his career as a trainee with Luton Town, turning professional with the Hatters in August 2000. He made his first-team debut on 17 January 2001 in a 2–1 defeat away to Queens Park Rangers in an FA Cup 3rd Round Replay, with his league debut coming 6 days later in a 2–0 defeat away to Oldham Athletic. Ahmet Brković
Ahmet Brković (born 23 September 1974) is a Croatian former footballer. His position was midfielder. Club career Brković started off his career in 1992 for HNK Dubrovnik in Croatia. In 1998 he transferred to NK Varteks. When he was made available for transfer after military service, clubs from the Football League expressed an interest in taking him on trial. Lennie Lawrence, then manager of Luton invited him in for a trial. Although performing well, Smiler decided that Brković was not quite ready for the English game and allowed him to move on. Kevin Nicholls
Kevin John Richard Nicholls (born 2 January 1979) is an English former footballer who played in midfield. He most recently played for Luton Town, a club where he spent eight years at in two separate spells. At the beginning of his second stint at Luton in 2008, in which he dropped two divisions to play, Nicholls stated that his main motivation for returning was his love for the club. A long-term knee injury sustained in 2009 led to him volunteering to be released from his contract on 27 August 2010 and he subsequently retired from professional football. Nicholls is one of Luton's most successful captains, having won two promotions and the Football League Trophy during his tenure. Solomon Sebastian Davis (born 4 September 1979) is an English footballer who plays for Arlesey Town. Career Born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, Davis is a left-back who played over 130 times for Swindon Town before being transferred to Luton Town in August 2002, bought by then manager Joe Kinnear. Davis was named Players' Player of the Year following the club's League One winning campaign in 2004–05 in which Davis scored twice – his first ever goals in professional football. Curtis Davies
Curtis Eugene Davies (born 15 March 1985) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Derby County. Davies began his career at Luton Town, for whom he made his professional debut in 2003. Davies moved to Premier League side West Bromwich Albion in 2005. He signed on loan for Aston Villa in 2007, making the move permanent in 2008. After injury problems forced him out of the side in 2009, Davies joined Leicester City on loan in 2010 and then transferred to Birmingham City in January 2011.
