The 2005–06 Lega Basket Serie A season, known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons, was the 84th season of the Lega Basket Serie A, the highest professional basketball league in Italy. The regular season ran from October 9, 2005 to May 2006, 18 teams played 34 games each. The top 8 teams made the play-offs whilst the lowest ranked team, Viola Reggio Calabria and the bankrupt club Roseto Basket, BT Roseto, were relegated to the Serie A2 Basket, Legadue. Benetton Basket, Benetton Treviso won their second title by winning the playoff finals series against Fortitudo Bologna, Climamio Bologna. The regular season ran from October 3, 2004 to May 2005, 18 teams played 34 games each. The top 8 teams made the play-offs whilst the lowest ranked team, Sicc Cucine Jesi and the bankrupt club Scavolini Pesaro, were relegated to the Legadue. Climamio Bologna won their second title by winning the playoff finals series against Armani Jeans Milano. Regular Season 2004/05 Teams marked in green qualified for the playoffs. Pallacanestro Treviso
Pallacanestro Treviso, named Benetton Basket due to a long running sponsorship by the Benetton Group and widely referred to as Benetton Treviso, is an Italian youth basketball club based in Treviso, Veneto. The club was previously a successful professional club until 2012 when the Benetton Group decided to withdraw from professional basketball, though they retained the youth section at La Ghirada, the sports complex they own. History Founded in 1954 as Duomo Folgore, it remained in obscurity for the first few decades of its existence though it did reach the first division Lega Basket Serie A in 1962. Pallacanestro Biella, known as Angelico Biella for sponsorship reasons, is an Italian professional basketball club based in Biella, Piedmont. History Associazione Sportiva Pallacanestro Biella was formed in 1994 from the merger of two local sides, Biella Basket Club and Amici del Basket Biella. It started playing in the Italian fourth division, moving up to the second division by 1999. Aleksandar "Saša" Đorđević or Sale Đorđević (Anglicized: Sasha Djordjevic; sr-Cyrl, Александар Саша Ђорђевић, ; born 26 August 1967) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player. He currently serves as a head coach for the senior China. During his playing career, he was listed as a 1.88 m (6'2") 90 kg (198 lb.) point guard. Svetislav "Kari" Pešić ( sr-cyrl, Светислав "Кари" Пешић; born August 28, 1949) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player who is the head coach of the Serbia men's national team. Pallacanestro Virtus Roma, commonly known as Virtus Roma, was an Italian professional basketball club based in Rome, Lazio. It competed in the first division of Italian basketball, the LBA, for the last time in the 2020–21 season. It was formerly a major side in Europe, winning the 1983–84 FIBA European Champions Cup ( EuroLeague), and at one time being one of only 13 clubs to hold a EuroLeague A license. Cesare Pancotto (born January 8, 1955) is an Italian professional basketball coach who is an assistant coach for Napoli Basket of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). Coaching career After a good career spent playing point guard in his native Porto San Giorgio, Pancotto began coaching in 1982 at the age of 27, taking the bench of his hometown team, U.S. Sangiorgese, at only three matches from the end of the season, gaining promotion to Serie B. In 1984 Sangiorgese, always guided by Pancotto, was promoted to A2, the Italian Second Division. Pallalcesto Amatori Udine, better known by the sponsorship name Snaidero Udine, was an Italian professional basketball club based in Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Piero Bucchi (born March 5, 1958) is an Italian basketball coach who is the head coach of Dinamo Sassari in the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) and Basketball Champions League (BCL) and Romeo Sacchetti's assistant coach of the Italian national team.
