2005–06 Celtic F.C. Season
Celtic started the season 2005–06 looking to win the Scottish Premier League trophy and retain the Scottish Cup. They competed in the Scottish League Cup, and entered the Champions League at the qualification stage. Celtic were knocked out of the Scottish Cup in the third round by Clyde, losing 2–1. They won the Scottish League Cup with a comfortable 3–0 victory over Dunfermline on 19 March 2006, while the league was regained after a 1–0 win over Hearts. Rival managers were quick to praise the manner in which Celtic had regained the SPL title. Alan Thompson (footballer Born 1973)
Alan Thompson (born 22 December 1973) is an English football coach and former professional footballer. As a player he was a midfielder who notably played in the Premier League for Bolton Wanderers and Aston Villa and in the Scottish Premiership with Celtic. He also played in the Football League with Newcastle United, Leeds United and Hartlepool United He made 550 appearances during his career and was capped by England once against Sweden in 2004. Thomas Michael McCurry (born 4 June 1964) is an ex football referee from Scotland. He refereed the 2005 Scottish League Cup Final. McCurry considered his refereeing to be a hobby and lists his main occupation as "Minister of Christian Faith". Fir Park
Fir Park Stadium is a football stadium situated in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. The stadium plays host to the home matches of Scottish Premiership club Motherwell and was the temporary home of Gretna for the 2007–08 SPL season. Motherwell moved to the stadium in 1895, previously playing their football at Dalziel Park. History and facilities Motherwell F.C. was formed in 1886. Craig Beattie (born 16 January 1984) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a striker. He started his career with Celtic before moving on to West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City, where he had loan spells with several Football League clubs. William Kinniburgh
William Daniel Kinniburgh (born 8 September 1984, in Glasgow) is a retired footballer who was the manager with Gartcairn F. A. Juniors in the West of Scotland Football League. He has played in the Scottish Premier League for Motherwell and the Scottish Football League for Ayr United and Partick Thistle. Scott Douglas McDonald (born 21 August 1983) is an Australian former professional footballer and is the current head coach for National Premier Leagues club Gold Coast Knights. Originally a striker, McDonald could also play as an attacking midfielder.
