CEV Women's Champions League
The Women's CEV Champions League, formerly known as CEV Champions Cup (from 1960 to 2000), is the top official competition for women's volleyball clubs of Europe and takes place every year. It is organized by the Confédération Européenne de Volleyball (CEV) and was created in 1960 as . On 13 November 2000, it was officially presented in Florence under a new format and renamed . Formula The competition has changed its format since the first fourteen teams took part at the inaugural edition in 1960–61. Through the era, as the number of participating teams has changed over time, the competition moved from an only knockout tournament to include a round-robin format between the final four competitors to determine the champion. Walewska Moreira de Oliveira (born 1 October 1979 in Belo Horizonte) is a female volleyball player who has competed for Brazil in three consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 2000. She won a bronze medal with the women's national team in Sydney, Australia, and a gold medal in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Walewska also claimed the gold medal at the 1999 Pan American Games. Victoria Ravva (born October 31, 1975) is a Georgian-born volleyball player who represented both Azerbaijan and France in international volleyball. She spent the most of her career in RC Cannes. Ravva was born in Tbilisi. She started her career in BZBK Baku (1989–1993) and Ankara Vakifbank (1994–1995). She is married to Georgian volleyball player Alexandre Jioshvili. Mirka Francia Vasconcelos (born 14 February 1975, in Villa Clara) is a Cuban-Italian volleyball player who has won two Olympic gold medals with the Cuba women's national volleyball team. At 1.84 meters (6 ft) tall, she played as a blocker before becoming a hitter in 2004.
