The following article presents a summary of the 2005 football (soccer) season in Brazil, which was the 104th season of competitive football in the country. Campeonato Brasileiro Série A Corinthians declared as the Campeonato Brasileiro champions. Relegation The four worst placed teams, which are Coritiba, Atlético Mineiro, Paysandu and Brasiliense, were relegated to the following year's second level. Campeonato Brasileiro Série B Grêmio declared as the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B champions. Promotion The two best placed teams in the final stage of the competition, which are Grêmio and Santa Cruz, were promoted to the following year's first level. Relegation The six worst placed teams, which are Vitória, Bahia, Anapolina, União Barbarense, Criciúma and Caxias, were relegated to the following year's third level. Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players who primarily use their feet to propel the ball around a rectangular field called a pitch. Paulista Futebol Clube, or Paulista as they are usually called, is a Brazilian football team from JundiaÃ, in São Paulo, founded on 17 May 1909. They currently play in the Paulistão Segunda Divisão, the fourth tier of the São Paulo state league. Home stadium is the Jayme Cintra stadium, capacity 15,000. The Campeonato Amapaense, commonly known simply as Amapazão, is the football league of the State of Amapá, Brazil. It is organized by the Amapá State Football Federation. Format First Stage *Standard round-robin, in which all teams play each other once. *Single leg playoff between the top 2 teams. The winner of this playoff qualifies for the championship final. Second Stage *Standard round-robin, in which all teams play each other once. *Single leg playoff between the top 2 teams. The winner of this playoff qualifies for the championship final. Campeonato Paranaense, which has been contested since 1915, is the top-flight football league of the state of Paraná, Brazil. Format The format has changed in 2014. 12 teams are together in a single group. They play against each other once, and the 8 best teams after the 11 games will play the knockout phase that teams will play against each other over two legs on a home-and-away basis. The last 4 teams will play the Torneio da Morte, where they will play against each other two times (home-away), the best two teams will stay in the Série Ouro, the first division of the football of the state and the two worst will be relegated to the Série Prata, the second division. Treze Futebol Clube is a Brazilian football team from Campina Grande in ParaÃba, founded on September 7, 1925. Historically, the club has competed in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A several times. Rio Branco Football Club, commonly referred to as Rio Branco, is a Brazilian professional club based in Rio Branco, Acre founded on 8 June 1919. It competes in the Campeonato Acreano, the top flight of the Acre state football league. It is the most successful club in Acre, having won a record 47 state titles, 31 of those being won in the amateur era.
