Bosnia And Herzegovina
Bosnia and Herzegovina ( sh, / , ), abbreviated BiH () or B&H, sometimes called Bosnia–Herzegovina and often known informally as Bosnia, is a country at the crossroads of south and southeast Europe, located in the Balkans. Bosnia and Herzegovina borders Serbia to the east, Montenegro to the southeast, and Croatia to the north and southwest. In the south it has a narrow coast on the Adriatic Sea within the Mediterranean, which is about long and surrounds the town of Neum. Sulejman Tihić
Sulejman Tihić (26 November 1951 – 25 September 2014) was a Bosnian politician who served as the 4th Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2002 to 2006. He was a member and later president of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA). From 2007 until his death in 2014, Tihić served as member of the national House of Peoples. Born in Bosanski Šamac, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Sarajevo in 1975. Following his graduation, Tihić worked as a judge, prosecutor and a lawyer. During the Bosnian War of 1992–95, he was captured by Serb soldiers and was tortured in concentration camps in both Bosnia and Serbia. Following the war, Tihić entered into politics. Already being a founding member of the SDA, he was named its president in 2001. Dragan Čović
Dragan Čović (; born 20 August 1956) is a Bosnian Croat politician who served as the 4th Croat member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2002 to 2005 and from 2014 to 2018. He is the current president of the Croatian Democratic Union and is a member of the national House of Peoples. Born in Mostar, Čović graduated from the Faculty of Engineering at University Džemal Bijedić in his hometown in 1979. He also attended studies at the University of Sarajevo and holds a PhD University of Mostar, obtaining it in 1996. Prior to the Bosnian War, Čović worked as a manager at Yugoslav aircraft manufacturer SOKO. He entered into politics by joining the Croatian Democratic Union in 1994, becoming its president in 2005. Ivo Miro Jović
Ivo Miro Jović (born 15 July 1950) is a Bosnian Croat former politician who served as the 5th Croat member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2005 to 2006. He was a member of both the national House of Peoples and House of Representatives. Jović has been a member of the Croatian Democratic Union since 1990. Early career After Jović had graduated as a history teacher from the University of Sarajevo, he worked as a teacher in Ilijaš and Kiseljak. He became active in politics in 1997, as the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ BiH) had proposed him for a government position in the Central Bosnia Canton. In 1999, Jović entered the Federal Government as Deputy Minister of Culture, where he remained until 2001. Borislav Paravac
Borislav Paravac ( sr-Cyrl, Борислав Паравац; born 18 February 1943) is a Bosnian Serb politician who served as the 4th Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2003 to 2006. Previously, he was a member of both the national House of Peoples and House of Representatives. Paravac is a member of the Serb Democratic Party. Early life and education Paravac was born on 18 February 1943 in Kostajnica near Doboj in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Zagreb in 1966. Career From 13 October 1998 until 14 October 2000, Paravac was the member of the national House of Peoples. Adnan Terzić
Adnan Terzić (born 5 April 1960) is a Bosnian politician who served as Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2002 to 2007. He was a longtime member of the Party of Democratic Action, until he left it to join the Union for a Better Future of BiH. Terzić was born in Zagreb in 1960, before moving to Sarajevo in his youth. He graduated from the University of Sarajevo in 1986. He was in the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Bosnian War. Following the war, Terzić served as Governor of Central Bosnia Canton from 1997 to 1998. He was afterwards elected to the Federal Parliament. Following the 2002 general election, Terzić was appointed Chairman of the Council of Ministers. He was succeeded as chairman by Nikola Špirić in January 2007.
