2005 Tennessee Titans Season
The 2005 Tennessee Titans season was the franchise’s 46th season overall, 36th with the National Football League and ninth in Tennessee. The team attempted to improve upon their previous output of 5–11, but was only able to win four games in 2005. The Titans’ games were often high-scoring, with eight of their sixteen games accumulating in excess of 50 points between the two teams. This was Steve McNair’s final season as a Titan before getting traded to the Baltimore Ravens following the season. AFC South
The American Football Conference – Southern Division or AFC South is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It was created before the 2002 NFL season, 2002 season when the league realigned divisions after expanding to 32 teams. Sherman Smith
Sherman Smith (born November 1, 1954) is a former professional American football running back who played eight seasons for the Seattle Seahawks and San Diego Chargers between 1976 and 1983. He was also the running backs coach for the Seahawks, as well as the former offensive coordinator for the Washington Redskins. After his playing days were over, he embarked upon a second career as a football coach, starting in high school, then college, and finally back in the National Football League (NFL) with the Houston Oilers / Tennessee Titans, the Redskins, and the Seahawks. Damien Nash
Damien Darnell Nash (April 14, 1982 – February 24, 2007) was an American football running back who played for the Tennessee Titans and Denver Broncos of the National Football League. He died after the 2006 season, his only season with the Broncos. High school career Nash attended St. Louis Riverview Gardens High School for the first three years of his education. He followed his coach, Darren Sunkett, to East Saint Louis High School for his senior year. He finished his career with 5,395 rushing yards and 85 rushing touchdowns as well as 1,160 passing yards and 10 passing touchdowns. Travis Deion Henry (born October 29, 1978) is a former American football running back who played seven seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the University of Tennessee. He was drafted by the Bills in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft, and also played for the Tennessee Titans and Denver Broncos. Troy Majors Fleming (born October 1, 1980 in Franklin, Tennessee) is a former American football fullback. He was originally drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the sixth round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He played college football at Tennessee. Early years Fleming attended Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, Tennessee and was a letterman in football, basketball, and track. Alan D. Lowry is a former National Football League and college football coach, best known as the architect of the Music City Miracle. He coached for several teams over more than 25 years, winning one Super Bowl and going to another.
