2005 IIHF World U18 Championships
The 2005 IIHF World U18 Championships were held in České Budějovice and Plzeň, Czech Republic. The championships began on April 14, 2005 and finished on April 24, 2005. Games were played at Budvar Arena in České Budějovice and ČEZ Aréna in Plzeň. The United States of America defeated Canada 5–1 in the final to claim the gold medal, while the Sweden defeated Czech Republic 4–2 to capture the bronze medal. Philip Joseph Kessel Jr. (born October 2, 1987) is an American professional ice hockey winger for the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has previously played for the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Arizona Coyotes. Martin Hanzal
Martin Hanzal (; born 20 February 1987) is a Czech former professional ice hockey centre. He was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the first round, 17th overall, of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Amateur As a youth, Hanzal played in the 2001 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a team from Chomutov. Hanzal was the Phoenix Coyotes' first round draft pick, 17th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft from hometown team HC České Budějovice. He then moved to North America to play for the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) in the 2005–06 season. In 19 games played with Omaha, he scored 19 points, and in five playoff games, he had one goal. The Belarus men's national under-18 ice hockey team is the men's national under-18 ice hockey team of Belarus. Ondřej Pavelec (; born 31 August 1987) is a Czech former professional ice hockey goaltender. Drafted in the second round, 41st overall, by the Atlanta Thrashers in 2005, he stayed with the team as they became the Winnipeg Jets in 2011, and played his final season with the New York Rangers. Jhonas Erik Enroth (born 25 June 1988), a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender, who is currently playing with Örebro HK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Jeffrey James Frazee (born May 13, 1987) is an American former professional ice hockey goaltender. He last played for HDD Olimpija Ljubljana of the Austrian Hockey League. He played one game in the National Hockey League with the New Jersey Devils during the 2012–13 season. Early life Frazee was born in Edina, Minnesota, but grew up in Burnsville, Minnesota. Tomáš Káňa (born November 29, 1987) is a Czech professional ice hockey player currently playing for Milton Keynes Lightning in the National Ice Hockey League (NIHL). Playing career Káňa, a center, played two seasons in the Czech Extraliga with HC Vítkovice before being drafted 31st overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
