2005 FIA WTCC Race Of Spain
The 2005 FIA WTCC Race Of Spain was the ninth and penultimate round of the 2005 World Touring Car Championship season. It was held at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. Jordi Gené won the first race for SEAT, this being SEAT's third win and the first for the new SEAT León in WTCC. The second race was dominated by Jörg Müller, whose win for BMW helped them to close in on the Manufacturers Championship. Ray Mallock Ltd., also known as RML Group, is a motorsports and high performance engineering company, based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom. Early history Ray Mallock began building racing cars, alongside his brother Richard, as an assistant to his father, Major Arthur Mallock, who created the Mallock U2 chassis for Clubmans racing. Tomas Engström (born 18 January 1964) is a Swedish auto racing driver. He is married with four children. In the 1990s he dominated the Swedish Camaro Cup, winning five back-to-back titles between 1994 and 1998. Since then he has mainly competed in touring cars, driving in the Swedish Touring Car Championship since 1999, when he entered an independent Chrysler Stratus. After this he managed and drove for the Honda Racing Team in a Honda Accord, with his best season for the team coming in 2003, when he finished third overall. Proteam Motorsport is an Italian auto racing team based in Arezzo that was set up by former driver Valmiro Presenzini in 1997. They are best known for their efforts in the FIA World Touring Car Championship. Their time in the WTCC has seen them become the most successful independent team in the championship, winning three Independent Team titles in 1996, 2007 and 2008. Giuseppe Cirò (born 28 November 1975, in Rossano) is an Italian auto racing driver. Career He started his racing career in 1990 through karting. He started circuit racing in 1995 with Italian Renault Clio Cup, winning the championship three times in 1996, 2003 and 2004. Between those titles, he also competed in the Italian Renault Megane Cup, and the Renault Clio Eurocup. In 2005, the team he was driving for, Proteam Motorsport, entered the inaugural FIA World Touring Car Championship. He drove a BMW 320i alongside fellow Italian Stefano D'Aste for the Independent Trophy. A reasonable season saw him finish with one championship point achieved in the final round at Macau. Marc Carol Ybarra (born 14 February 1985) is a Spanish auto racing driver.
