2005 Clásico RCN
The 45th edition of the annual Clásico RCN was held from October 2 to October 9, 2005 in Colombia. The stage race started in Cúcuta and finished with an individual time trial in Manizales. RCN stands for "Radio Cadena Nacional" – one of the oldest and largest radio networks in the nation. Libardo Niño Corredor (born 26 September 1968) is a male road racing cyclist from Colombia. He competed for his native country at the 1992 Summer Olympics, finishing in 76th place in the individual road race. Colombia competed with three cyclists in this event; the other ones being José Robles (49th) and Héctor Palacio (52nd). Armenia () is the capital of Quindio Department. Armenia is a medium-sized city and part of the " coffee axis" along with Pereira and Manizales. It is one of the main centers of the national economy and of the Colombian coffee growing axis. Mauricio Soler
Juan Mauricio Soler Hernández (born January 14, 1983 in Ramiriquí, Boyacá) is a Colombian former professional road bicycle racer, who last rode for UCI ProTour team . He competed in the Tour de France for the first time in 2007, winning stage 9, having broken away on the Col du Galibier. He won that year's King of the Mountains title. Soler stated the stage win was "a victory from heaven. It is the biggest win of my life, and in my first Tour de France. I didn't think it would come so quickly." He finished 11th overall that year.
