2005 Badminton World Cup
The 2005 Badminton World Cup was the twentieth edition of an international tournament Badminton World Cup. The event was held at the Olympic Sports Park in Yiyang, Hunan, China from 14 to 18 December 2005. Yiyang

Candra Wijaya
Rafael Candra Wijaya (; born 16 September 1975) is a retired Indonesian badminton player. Career Wijaya started his career in badminton at the age of five, motivated by his brother Indra Wijaya and later joined a club in Cirebon. His father, Hendra Wijaya, then took him to a club Pelita Jakarta when he was fourteen. In 1991, he was selected to join the national team. In 1998, he moved to Jaya Raya Jakarta. Wijaya is a doubles specialist. He has been rated among the best men's doubles players in the world for over a decade. Noted for his ability in all phases of the doubles game, he has reached the final of the BWF World Championships three times with countryman Sigit Budiarto. They won the 1997 edition in Glasgow, Scotland and finished second in 2003 and 2005. With Tony Gunawan he captured the men's doubles gold medal at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. Xie Zhongbo
Xie Zhongbo (; born 22 May 1983) is a former Chinese badminton player from Hunan and raised in Sichuan. After retired from the international tournament, he works as badminton coach in Sichuan. Career A doubles specialist on the world circuit, Xie has regularly partnered Guo Zhendong in men's doubles and Zhang Yawen in mixed doubles over the past several years. Xie and Guo have won the Polish International (2004), the China Masters (2005), and the India Open (2008) together. They were quarter-finalists at 2007 BWF World Championships, and at the 2008 Beijing Olympics narrowly lost to the eventual gold medalists, Indonesia's Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan, in the round of sixteen. Zhao Tingting (; born 28 November 1982) is a Chinese badminton player from Nantong, Jiangsu. Career A doubles specialist, Zhao has often been a "utility player" on China's national team, winning international tournaments with a variety of compatriots who typically partner someone else. She has won women's doubles at the Denmark (2002, 2004) and Thailand (2003) Opens with Wei Yili; the French (2002), China (2008), and Hong Kong (2008) Opens with Zhang Yawen; the Swiss Open (2007) and Asian Championships (2007) with Yang Wei; and at the China Open (2007) with Gao Ling. Zhang Dan (badminton)
Zhang Dan (; born 16 January 1982) is a Chinese badminton player and in 2008 she started representing Macau. Career Zhang was specialized in women's doubles and mixed doubles, earning numerous international titles in both events. At the 2005 World Championships tournament she took a bronze in women's doubles with Zhang Yawen. At the 2007 Summer Universiade she took a silver medal with the Chinese mixed team and two individual bronze medals in women's doubles with Wang Lin and in mixed doubles with Chen Hong. She reached nine finals at Grand Prix events in women's doubles between 2003 and 2006, winning three events with Zhang Yawen, the 2004 Thailand Open & German Open and the 2005 Singapore Open. Zhang Yawen (; born 9 March 1985) is a badminton player from China. Career Zhang has specialized in women's doubles and mixed doubles, earning numerous international titles in both events. At various times she has partnered either Zhang Dan, or Zhao Tingting, or Wei Yili to women's doubles victories at the French (2002, 2007), German (2004), Thailand (2004), Singapore (2005, 2007), Indonesia (2006), China (2008), and Hong Kong (2008) Opens. Wei Yili (; born 24 June 1982) is a former badminton player from China. Career A women's doubles specialist, since 2001 Wei has competed on the world circuit in partnership with a variety of her fellow countrywomen, but most often with Zhang Jiewen, Zhao Tingting or Zhang Yawen. A member of China's perennial world champion Uber Cup teams, in the biggest events for individual players (such as the BWF World Championships, the All-England Championships, and the Olympic Games) Wei and her partners have usually been overshadowed by China's two dominant women's doubles pairs, Gao Ling and Huang Sui, and Yang Wei and Zhang Jiewen. Zhang Jiewen
Zhang Jiewen (; born 4 January 1981) is a Chinese former badminton player. Career One of China's most successful women's doubles specialists, Zhang has won some thirty international titles, the vast majority of them in partnership with Yang Wei, during the first decade of the 21st century. They have shared world dominance almost equally with their compatriot adversaries Gao Ling and Huang Sui. One or the other pair has captured all of the BWF World Championships held since 2000, with Zhang and Yang winning in both 2005 and 2007 by defeating Gao and Huang in the finals. Zhang and Yang also emerged victorious at the 2004 Olympics in Athens by besting their rivals in a closely contested gold medal match. Yang Wei (badminton)
Yang Wei (; born 13 January 1979) is a Chinese former badminton player who affiliate with Guangdong provincial team. Career A woman's doubles specialist, Yang has won some forty international titles, most of them in the sport's top tier events, since 1998. Prior to 2003 she partnered Huang Nanyan with whom she earned a silver medal at the Badminton at the 2000 Summer Olympics, 2000 Sydney Olympics and gained the winning point against Korea national badminton team, South Korea in the 2002 Uber Cup (women's world team championship) final. Her subsequent partnership with Zhang Jiewen has been even more successful as they have shared international domination with compatriot rivals Gao Ling and Huang Sui.
