Derek Laxdal
Derek Laxdal (born February 21, 1966) is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former professional right winger. In 2022, Laxdal was named the head coach of the Oshawa Generals. Playing career Born and raised in Stonewall, Manitoba, Laxdal was drafted in the eighth round, 151st overall, by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft. He played 67 games in the National Hockey League: 51 over four seasons with the Maple Leafs and 16 more over two seasons with the New York Islanders. In an almost 20-year career, he scored points at every level, including a successful four-year stint in the UK between 1995/96 and 1998/99, where he played for the Humberside Hawks, Nottingham Panthers and Sheffield Steelers. Coaching career From December 10, 2019, until May 20,2022, Laxdal was an assistant coach with the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League. Jason Duda
Jason Duda (born May 5, 1975) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player who played for the Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League (CHL). He then served as assistant coach for the Wichita Thunder until being dismissed from that job on October 2, 2015. Early life Duda was born in Sexsmith, Alberta. Wichita Thunder
The Wichita Thunder are a minor league hockey team based in Wichita, Kansas. The team played in the Central Hockey League from 1992 until 2014, and then in the ECHL since the 2014–15 season. From 1992 until December 2009, the Thunder played in the Britt Brown Arena located in the northern Wichita suburb of Park City. In January 2010 (the second half of the 2009–10 season), the team began playing its home games at the newly built Intrust Bank Arena. The Thunder are currently the ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks. The Colorado Eagles are a professional minor league ice hockey team based in Loveland, Colorado. The Eagles play in the Pacific Division of the American Hockey League. The Eagles were founded as an expansion franchise in 2003 in the Central Hockey League and remained in the league until June 2011, when they joined the ECHL. New Mexico Scorpions
The New Mexico Scorpions were a Central Hockey League (CHL) team located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The team was established in 1996 as a part of the Western Professional Hockey League (WPHL). In 2001, the WPHL merged with the CHL. On July 2, 2009, the Scorpions ceased operations. The Scorpions' home arena during their WPHL and early CHL days was the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The team suspended operations for the 2005-06 season, then moved to the new Santa Ana Star Center, in the neighbouring city of Rio Rancho, for the 2006-07 season. The Topeka Tarantulas were a professional minor league ice hockey team based in Topeka, Kansas. They were a member of the Central Hockey League and played their home games at Landon Arena. The team was established in 2004 when the Indianapolis Ice moved to Topeka from Indianapolis. The Tarantulas played one season and then folded.
