2004–05 Tottenham Hotspur F.C. Season
The 2004–05 season was Tottenham Hotspur's 13th season in the Premier League and 27th successive season in the top division of the English football league system. Season summary Tottenham made a promising start under Jacques Santini and looked to be challenging for a place in Europe, but Santini resigned in November after only 12 games, citing personal reasons. He was replaced by his assistant coach Martin Jol, whose first match in charge saw arch-rivals Arsenal win a thrilling North London derby 5–4. Following the derby defeat results picked up and Tottenham were soon back amongst the race for a UEFA Cup spot, but a draw with Blackburn Rovers on the last day of the season saw their slim European hopes dashed. Tottenham () is a town in North London, England, within the London Borough of Haringey. It is located in the ceremonial county of Greater London. North London Derby
The North London derby is the meeting of the association football clubs Arsenal F.C. and Tottenham Hotspur F.C., both of which are based in North London, England. Fans of both clubs consider the other to be their main rivals, and the derby is considered by many to be one of the fiercest derbies in the world. Although the two teams first played each other in 1887, the rivalry did not begin until 1913 when Arsenal moved their ground to North London from Woolwich, south of the river Thames. Pedro Mendes (footballer, Born 1979)
Pedro Miguel da Silva Mendes (; born 26 February 1979) is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He works as a football agent. Starting his career with home town club Vitória de Guimarães, Mendes won the UEFA Champions League with Porto in the 2003–04 season. He then moved to the Premier League, initially with Tottenham Hotspur in 2004, where he famously scored a 45-yard ghost goal against Manchester United that was wrongly not given by the officials despite goalkeeper Roy Carroll having fumbled his catch and clawed the ball back from at least a yard behind the goal line. He then moved to his second English club, Portsmouth, before a stint at Scottish Premier League side Rangers. Simon Davies (born 23 October 1979) is a Welsh former professional footballer who played as a winger. Davies started his career at Peterborough United before playing for Premier League clubs Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Fulham, earning a runner-up medal during the 2009–10 UEFA Europa League with Fulham. Goran Bunjevčević ( sr-cyr, Горан Буњевчевић, ; 17 February 1973 – 28 June 2018) was a Serbian footballer who played as a defender in Serbia, England and the Netherlands. Sean Davis (born 20 September 1979) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He made his professional debut for Fulham in 1996 and went on to make over 150 league appearances for the club. He joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2004.
