The 2004–2005 LEB season was the 9th season of the Liga Española de Baloncesto, second tier of the Spanish basketball. Liga Española De Baloncesto
The Liga Española de Baloncesto, also known as LEB Oro, is the second basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system after the Liga ACB. It is run by the FEB. The Liga Española de Baloncesto is divided into two categories (the other one is the LEB Plata). The LEB league was founded in 1996 and is played under FIBA rules. It was renamed LEB Oro in 2007. The league is contested by 18 clubs. Each season, the top-finishing team in the LEB Oro are automatically promoted to the Liga ACB. The teams that finish the season in 2nd to 9th place enter a playoff tournament, with the winner also gaining promotion to the Liga ACB. The three lowest-finishing teams in the LEB Oro are relegated to LEB Plata. A total of 78 teams have competed in LEB Oro since its inception in 1996. 19 teams have been crowned champions and 30 teams have gained promotion to Liga ACB, of which only five teams could not play in Liga ACB. Cantabria Baloncesto
Cantabria Baloncesto was a professional basketball team who played during five seasons in Liga ACB. The team was also known as Cantabria Lobos. From 1975 to 2004 the team was based and played in Torrelavega, but after the 2003-04 season the Cantabria Lobos moved to Santander, Cantabria. In 2008, the team renounced their spot in the LEB Oro and played in LEB Bronce. After that season, Cantabria Baloncesto ceased in activity but was not dissolved. Liga ACB
The Liga ACB, known as Liga Endesa for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system. Administrated by the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB), Liga ACB is contested by 18 teams, with the two lowest-placed teams relegated to the LEB Oro and replaced by the top team in that division plus the winner of the promotion playoffs. The competition was founded as the ACB Primera División on 1983 following the decision of clubs in the Liga Nacional, founded in 1957, to break away from the Spanish Basketball Federation and professionalize the league. Ourense Baloncesto
Club Ourense Baloncesto, S.A.D., more commonly referred to today by its sponsorship name of Río Ourense Termal, is a professional basketball team based in Ourense, Spain. The team currently plays in league LEB Oro. History Founded in 1978 as Club Bosco-Salesianos, the club achieved its first success promoting to Segunda División in 1984. Two years later, Ourense advances to Primera División B, the second tier, where it plays three seasons before promoting to Liga ACB in 1989 as champion of the league. CB Valls
Club Bàsquet Valls is a basketball club based in Valls, Catalonia, Spain that currently plays in Liga EBA, the fourth tier of Spanish basketball. History Founded in 1952, its first success came in 1993 when the club qualified for the promotion playoffs to the Primera División, at that time the second tier. Club Baloncesto Ciudad de Algeciras, officially named as Agrupación Deportiva Carteia, is a basketball club in the city of Algeciras in southern Spain.
