During the 2004–05 English football season, Ipswich Town competed in the Football League Championship. Season summary Ipswich missed automatic promotion in the 2004–05 season, finishing third, only two points behind second-placed Wigan Athletic. Again, they lost to West Ham United in the play off semi-finals, this time by a 4–2 aggregate score. Ipswich () is a port town and borough in Suffolk, England, of which it is the county town. The town is located in East Anglia about away from the mouth of the River Orwell and the North Sea. Ipswich is both on the Great Eastern Main Line railway and the A12 road; it is north-east of London, east-southeast of Cambridge and south of Norwich. Wigan ( ) is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, on the River Douglas. The town is midway between the two cities of Manchester, to the south-east, and Liverpool, to the south-west. Kevin Horlock (born 1 November 1972) is a football manager and former professional footballer. He is the manager of Needham Market and assistant manager of the Northern Ireland under-21 team. As a player he was a midfielder who notably played for Manchester City, for whom he played in three different divisions including the Premier League. Pablo González Couñago (born 9 August 1979) is a Spanish former footballer who played as a striker. James Magilton (born 6 May 1969) is a Northern Irish football manager and former professional player. As a player, he was a midfielder who notably played in the Premier League for Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich Town. He started his playing career in the Irish League with Distillery then signed for Liverpool but would fail to make an appearance. Richard Alan Naylor (born 28 February 1977) is an English former footballer who played as a centre-back. Drissa Diallo (born 4 January 1973 in Mauritania) is a Guinean former professional footballer who most recently played for Cheltenham Town. Although he holds French nationality, he represented Guinea on eight occasions at international level. Career After playing for Sedan, Liege and Denize, Diallo signed for KV Mechelen in 1998. Jason Richard de Vos (born January 2, 1974) is a Canadian former professional soccer player who played as a central defender. Matthew Lee Richards (born 26 December 1984) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder or left back.
