Ryuta Sakurai
Ryuta Sakurai (born September 8, 1971) is a Japanese mixed martial artist who currently competes in the middleweight division. A veteran who fought for many companies such as Shooto, Pancrase and PRIDE. Nicknamed Mr. DEEP, he is best known for spending most of his fighting career in DEEP, where he is a former DEEP Middleweight champion. Career DEEP Sakurai defeated Ryuki Ueyama at Deep: 17 Impact on December 18th, 2004 by technical knockout in the first round to win the championship. Sakurai would lose the title in February 2006 to Ryo Chonan at Deep: 23rd Impact in the first round due to a cut. He would challenge for the championship in a rematch against rival Riki Fukuda at Deep: 40 Impact, where he lost via unanimous decision. Satoko Shinashi
is a female Japanese mixed martial artist. She is a former DEEP Flyweight champion and former Smackgirl Flyweight champion. She is tied second for the most bouts among women and is considered as one of the pioneers of women's mixed martial arts. Background Influenced by her father, Shinashi started training judo at the age of 15, stopping the discipline after graduating from Nippon Sport Science University at 22. She then started competing in sambo, in which she excelled in international competition. Mixed martial arts career After a short amateur career, Shinashi turned pro in 2001. Smackgirl Racking an undefeated record of 4–0–1 in her first five bouts, she entered Smackgirl 2002 Lightweight tournament in late 2002. Rob Emerson
Robert Michael Emerson (born July 30, 1981) is an American professional mixed martial artist. A professional competitor since 2002, Emerson is also a veteran of Bellator MMA, the UFC, Pancrase, and was a cast member of ''The Ultimate Fighter 5''. Background Emerson was born in Huntington Beach, California and grew up in Dana Point, California. He started training Kyokushin Karate at the age of nine and picked up also Kajukenbo later. Being severely bullied in the school for his Tourettes, Emerson got into lots of fights in his juvenile years. While preparing to embark on a military career, Emerson went to an unsanctioned mixed martial arts show and ended up fighting there, kindling a fire to pursue a career in the sport. known as , also written Dokonjyonosuke Mishima, is a Japanese mixed martial artist and professional wrestler. He has competed professionally since 1998 in organizations such as Shooto, DEEP, PRIDE, the UFC and in his pro wrestling days he has competed in Kiyoshi Tamura's organization U-Style Pro Wrestling. Mishima is known for his charisma and emphasis on entertainment as well as competition. He typically enters the arena in an outlandish fashion, such as in his UFC debut, where he sported a bathrobe and devil mask while clutching a Snoopy stuffed animal. Career On December 14, 2002, Mishima challenged Takanori Gomi for the Shooto welterweight (154 lb) championship, but lost by technical knockout due to punches.
