Ghislenghien
Ghislenghien ( nl, Gellingen; pcd, Guilinguin) is a small town of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Ath, located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. It has about 3000 inhabitants. Gas explosion On July 30, 2004 a high-pressure natural gas pipeline operated at a pressure of 70 bar ruptured following recent third party damage. Twenty-four people died as a result and 150 survivors were hospitalised, most with severe burns. It is thought that damage to the pipeline occurred during the final stages of a car park construction project. Notice of the work had been given to the pipeline operator, Fluxys Fluxys is a Belgium-based company, mainly acting as a natural gas transmission system operator. Jean-Pierre Hallet
Jean-Pierre Hallet (1927 – 1 January 2004) was a Belgian (born in DR Congo) ethnologist, naturalist, and humanitarian known best for his extensive work with the Efé (Bambuti) pygmies of the Ituri Rainforest. He wrote the 1964 autobiographical book, ''Congo Kitabu'', the 1973 ethnologic book ''Pygmy Kitabu'' (a more detailed description of life with the Efé and neighboring pygmies), and the 1968 book ''Animal Kitabu,'' which details his extraordinary collection of animals in the Congo and in Kenya. He initiated the Pygmy Fund for the benefit of the Efé. Early life Hallet's father was André Hallet, a Belgian painter of African scenes. He lived on the shore of Lake Kivu, in modern Rwanda. Ben Mertens (born 13 October 2004) is a Belgian professional snooker player. He won the World Open Under-16 Snooker Championships in 2018. Career Ben Mertens is from Wetteren. When he was 12 years old, he reached the 2nd round of the 2017 EBSA European Under-18 Snooker Championship. At the 2018 EBSA European Under-18 Snooker Championship he got to the quarter-finals, where he lost to the later champion Jackson Page. He won the Belgian U18 championship in 2018. Evy Poppe (born 2 March 2004) is a Belgian snowboarder. She won the gold medal at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics in slopestyle. Princess Louise Marie Amélie of Belgium (18 February 1858 – 1 March 1924) was the eldest child and daughter of King Leopold II and Queen Marie Henriette of Belgium. She was a member of the House of Wettin in the branch of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. By her marriage with her first cousin once removed Prince Philipp of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, she retained her birth titles of House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and Duchess in Saxony. Louise was born during the reign of her grandfather Leopold I of Belgium, and she was named after her grandmother Louise of Orléans, Queen Louise. North Galaxy Towers
The North Galaxy Towers are twin 28-storey skyscrapers on the / in the Northern Quarter central business district of Brussels, Belgium. There is a third building in the complex which is 6 storeys tall. The first two floors are shared by all three buildings. The two towers are tall, placing them amongst the tallest buildings in Belgium. The complex has of office space above ground and below ground. About of the space below ground is used for archives. There are a total of 35 elevators in the complex. The towers were originally conceived as part of an eight-building Brussels World Trade Center complex, but were splintered off into a separate project. The construction of the towers began in 2002 and ended in 2004. The complex is being leased by the Belgian Federal Government. It houses the Federal Public Financial Service and other governmental bodies, with all three buildings used for administration and management. Hasselt (, , ; la, Hasseletum, Hasselatum) is a Belgian city and municipality, and capital and largest city of the province of Limburg in the Flemish Region of Belgium. Ethias Arena
The Trixxo Arena is the largest multipurpose arena in Hasselt, Limburg, Belgium used for music concerts, sports (tennis, indoor cycling, jumping, etc.) and other large events. It opened in September 2004 at a total construction cost of €11.7million. The arena complex can hold up to around 21,000 people, with the Main Hall holding a maximum of 18,000.
