2004 World Rowing Championships
The 2004 World Rowing Championships were World Rowing Championships that were held from 27 July to 1 August 2004 in conjunction with the World Junior Rowing Championships on lake Banyoles in Catalonia, Spain. Since 2004 was an Olympic year for rowing, the World Championships did not include Olympic events scheduled for the 2004 Summer Olympics. Lake Of Banyoles
Lake of Banyoles (or Estany de Banyoles) is a natural lake located in the ''comarca'' "Pla de l'Estany", Province of Girona, in northeastern Catalonia, Spain. It is named after the nearby town of Banyoles, to which it belongs entirely. On the western shore it borders with the town of Porqueres. The lake is approximately 2,100 m by 750 m with an average depth of 15 m that in several points gets down to 46.4 metres. It is located in a natural tectonic depression. Presently Lake Banyoles is the largest natural lake in Catalonia. Lake Sils, located 33 km further south, was formerly the largest lake in the area until it was drained in 1851. Flora and fauna There are both native and introduced fish species in the lake, like carp, ''gardí'', ''bavosa de riu'', sunfish, tench, black bass and eel. Marcus McElhenney
Marcus McElhenney (born July 27, 1981) is an American coxswain. He won a bronze medal in the men's eight at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Life and career McElhenney first competed internationally in 2001, representing the United States in Linz, Austria at the Nations' Cup (Under 23 World Championships) where he coxed the men's eight to a silver medal. McElhenney was invited to try out for the 2002 Under 23 World Championship team. Josh Inman (born March 13, 1980) is an American rower. Inman was born and raised in Hillsboro, Oregon, where he graduated from Hillsboro High School and became an Eagle Scout. He lettered with the Oregon State Beavers men's rowing team during the years 2000–2003. Paul Daniels (born June 4, 1981 in Burlington, Wisconsin) is an American rower. He studied at the University of Wisconsin and then in 2005 come to the UK to study an MSc Nature, Society & Env.
