2004 Oklahoma Sooners Football Team
The 2004 Oklahoma Sooners football team represented the University of Oklahoma during the 2004 NCAA Division I-A football season, the 110th season of Sooner football. The team was led by two-time Walter Camp Coach of the Year Award winner, Bob Stoops, in his sixth season as head coach. They played their home games at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma. They were a charter member of the Big 12 Conference. Conference play began with a win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Norman on October 2, and ended with a win over the Colorado Buffaloes in the Big 12 Championship Game on December 4. The Sooners finished the regular season 12–0 (9–0 in Big 12) while winning their third Big 12 title and their 39th conference title overall. Bob Stoops
Robert Anthony Stoops (born September 9, 1960) is an American football coach. He was the head football coach at the University of Oklahoma from 1999 through the 2016 season, and on an interim basis during the 2021 Alamo Bowl. He led the Oklahoma Sooners to a record of 191–48 over his career. His 2000 Oklahoma Sooners football team won the 2001 Orange Bowl, which served as the BCS National Championship Game, and earned a consensus national championship. Since 2020, Stoops has been a head coach with the XFL, coaching the Arlington Renegades in 2020 and has been re-signed for 2023. Stoops played college football at the University of Iowa as a defensive back from 1979 to 1982. Oklahoma Sooners Football
The Oklahoma Sooners football program is a college football team that represents the University of Oklahoma (variously "Oklahoma" or "OU"). Mike Hawkins (cornerback)
Michael Hawkins (born July 15, 1983 in Dallas, Texas) is a former American football cornerback. He was signed by the Dallas Desperados in 2004 and drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football at Oklahoma. After a few Arena Football League seasons, he was selected by the Green Bay Packers with the 167th overall selection in the 2005 NFL Draft. Jammal Filbert Brown (born March 30, 1981) is a former American football offensive tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons. The 2004 Texas Tech Red Raiders football team represented Texas Tech University as a member of the Big 12 Conference during the 2004 NCAA Division I-A football season. In their fifth season under head coach Mike Leach, the Red Raiders compiled an overall record of 8–4 record with a mark of 5–3 in conference play, finished in a tie for third place in Southern Division of the Big 12, defeated California in the 2004 Holiday Bowl, and outscored opponents by a combined total of 434 to 314.
