2004 Humanitarian Bowl
The 2004 Humanitarian Bowl was the 7th edition of the bowl game. The next edition was played in December 2004, almost a year from this game, and the name was changed after this contest to the "MPC Computers Bowl". This game featured the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. In this game Georgia Tech set several Humanitarian Bowl records. The 42 point margin of victory is a bowl game record. Georgia Tech running back P. J. Daniels started the scoring on a 9-yard touchdown run, giving the Yellow Jackets a 7–0 lead. He would finish with a bowl game record 307 yards on 31 carries for the game. In the second quarter Tulsa's Brad DeVault kicked a 22-yard field goal to draw Tulsa to within 7–3. The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is a collegiate athletic conference located in the eastern United States. The 2003 Tulsa Golden Hurricane football team represented the University of Tulsa as a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) during the 2003 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by first-year head coach Steve Kragthorpe, the Golden Hurricane compiled an overall record of 8–5 with a mark of 6–2 in conference play, tying for second place in the WAC. Tulsa was invited to the Humanitarian Bowl, where the Golden Hurricane lost to Georgia Tech. The team played home games at Skelly Stadium in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, previously the Humanitarian Bowl (1997–2003, 2007–2010) and the MPC Computers Bowl (2004–2006), is an NCAA-sanctioned post-season college football bowl game that has been played annually since 1997 at Albertsons Stadium on the campus of Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. The 2003–04 NCAA football bowl games were a series of 28 post-season games (including the Bowl Championship Series) played in December 2003 and January 2004 for Division I-A football teams and their all-stars. The post-season began with the New Orleans Bowl on December 16, 2003, and concluded on January 31, 2004, with the season-ending Gridiron Classic. A total of 28 team-competitive games, and two all-star games, were played. To fill the 56 available bowl slots, four teams with non-winning seasons participated in bowl games—all four had a .500 (6–6) season. Garrett Mills
Michael Garrett Mills (born October 12, 1983) is a former American football tight end. He was selected by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He played college football at Tulsa. Mills also played for the Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, and Cincinnati Bengals. Early years Mills attended Jenks High School in Jenks, Oklahoma and was a good student and a standout in football and basketball. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) is an NCAA Division I conference. The WAC covers a broad expanse of the western United States with member institutions located in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Utah, Washington (state), Washington, and Texas. The 2004 MPC Computers Bowl was a post-season college football bowl game between the 2004 Fresno State Bulldogs football team, Fresno State Bulldogs and the 2004 Virginia Cavaliers football team, Virginia Cavaliers on December 27, 2004, at Bronco Stadium in Boise, Idaho. Fresno State won the game 37–34 in overtime on a 25-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Paul Pinegar to Stephen Spach. Virginia had a complicated route to the MPC Computers bowl. Iowa State got on the board first after a 30-yard field goal from Adam Benike, taking a 3–0 lead. In the second quarter, Boise State's Brock Forsey scored from 4 yards out for Boise State to jump ahead 7–3.
