2003–04 Luton Town F.C. Season
The 2003–04 season was the 118th season in the history of Luton Town Football Club, and club's 83rd consecutive year in the Football League. Luton finished in tenth place, a surprising success considering the financial issues that afflicted the club. Despite being placed in administrative receivership for the majority of the season following a turbulent change of ownership and having a rigorous transfer embargo imposed as a result, signing players only with the Football League's special dispensation, the club accrued more points than in the previous campaign. The lack of spending power meant that numerous youth team players were promoted to the first-team squad, such as Kevin Foley, Curtis Davies, Keith Keane, and Leon Barnett; as well as players with no previous professional football experience, like Enoch Showunmi. Luton Town F
Luton () is a town and unitary authority with borough status, in Bedfordshire, England. At the 2011 census, the Luton built-up area subdivision had a population of 211,228 and its built-up area, including the adjacent towns of Dunstable and Houghton Regis, had a population of 258,018. It is the most populous town in the county, from the County Towns of Hertford, from Bedford and from London. The town is situated on the River Lea, about north-north-west of London. The town's foundation dates to the sixth century as a Saxon outpost on the River Lea, from which Luton derives its name. Curtis Davies
Curtis Eugene Davies (born 15 March 1985) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Derby County. Davies began his career at Luton Town, for whom he made his professional debut in 2003. Davies moved to Premier League side West Bromwich Albion in 2005. He signed on loan for Aston Villa in 2007, making the move permanent in 2008. After injury problems forced him out of the side in 2009, Davies joined Leicester City on loan in 2010 and then transferred to Birmingham City in January 2011. He signed for Hull City in 2013 and then moved to Derby County in 2017. Davies made three appearances for the England under-21s and has been called up to the senior squad several times but has never made a full international appearance. Aaron Skelton
Aaron Skelton (born 22 November 1974 in Welwyn Garden City) is a former professional footballer who played at right-back, right-wing, center-midfield and center-back during his time at Luton Town FC, Luton Town and Colchester United F.C., Colchester. His More recent achievement, on 15 July 2022, Aaron joined a team of 4 military veterans on the rowing boat Ellida to cross the English Channel from Cherbourg to Poole. This 66 nautical mile trip ended on 16 July after 38.5 hours at sea, with strong winds and tides resulting in a 109-mile row and a Successful crossing. Alan Kimble
Alan Frank Kimble (born 6 August 1966) is an English football manager and former professional footballer. As a player, he was a defender who notably played in the Premier League for Wimbledon. He also played in the Football League for Charlton Athletic, Exeter City, Cambridge United, Peterborough United and Luton Town before finishing his career with non-league sides Dagenham & Redbridge and Heybridge Swifts. Following retirement, Kimble has worked as a manager and assistant manager within the non-league game for Ebbsfleet United, Aveley, Hemel Hempstead Town, Eastbourne Borough and Maldon & Tiptree. Duncan Jupp
Duncan Alan Jupp (born 25 January 1975) is a former professional footballer who played as a defender. Born in England, he earned nine caps with the Scotland U21 national team. Career Jupp began his career as a trainee with Fulham where he made more than 100 appearances before he moved to Wimbledon for £200,000. He later had spells with Notts County and Luton Town before joining Southend United, where he helped the club to two consecutive promotions - including scoring the decisive goal in the Football League Two Playoff final in 2005 against Lincoln City; his only goal for the club. Mark Ovendale
Mark John Ovendale (22 November 1973 – 29 August 2011) was an English football goalkeeper. Playing career Ovendale was born in Leicester and began his career with local village team Leverington before joining Wisbech Town. He moved to Northampton Town, playing six league games in the 1994–95 season. He joined Welsh champions Barry Town in August 1997 and after a successful first season, joined AFC Bournemouth for a fee of £30,000 in July 1998. He quickly became the first choice in the Bournemouth goal, making his Cherries' debut on the opening day of the 1998–99 season, a 2–0 win at home to Lincoln City. He remained a regular over the next two seasons before a £425,000 move took him to Luton Town in August 2000. Carl Emberson
Carl Wayne Emberson (born 13 July 1973 in Epsom, Surrey) is an English retired football goalkeeper. Career He played in the 1990–91 Final of the FA Youth Cup with Millwall, but only ever managed to make 1 Senior first-team appearance for the club. He joined Colchester United for £25,000 in 1994, where he had previously been on loan. He enjoyed six successful seasons at Colchester United as their first choice goalkeeper making over 200 senior league and cup Appearances. He went on to play for Walsall, before moving to Luton Town where he gained automatic promotion in his first season with the club, he then moved onto Southend United, Grays Athletic and Sutton United. Michael Gordon Harford (born 12 February 1959) is an English football manager and former professional player. He is the chief recruitment officer at Luton Town, a club where he has spent a large portion of both his playing and non-playing career. In addition to two separate spells as a player at Luton, including as part of the team that won the League Cup in 1988, Harford has been the club's director of football, first-team coach and manager; the latter role saw him lead Luton to victory in the Football League Trophy in 2009 & gloriously return in the 2018-19 season to guide The Hatters to champions of League One. Joe Kinnear
Joseph Patrick Kinnear (born 27 December 1946) is an Irish former football manager and player. Kinnear played as a defender, spending the majority of his career—ten seasons—with Tottenham Hotspur. With Tottenham he won the FA Cup, the EFL Cup twice, the FA Community Shield and the UEFA Cup. Kinnear was born in Dublin, moving to Watford, England at the age of seven. He was capped 26 times for the Republic of Ireland national football team.
