2003 Washington Redskins
The Washington Redskins season was the franchise's 72nd season in the National Football League. The team failed to improve on their 7–9 record from 2002, dropping to 5-11 and missing the playoffs for the fourth straight year. This was their worst season since 1994. This was the first season since 1982 that the Redskins did not have cornerback Darrell Green, who retired after the 2002 season. Owing to different formulas for intraconference scheduling used by the NFL before 2002, it was the first time since 1994 that the Redskins played the Atlanta Falcons and the first time ever the Redskins had played at the Georgia Dome, which opened in 1992. During the season the Redskins wore a patch on their jerseys with the initials "GSS: Hail to the Redskins" to commemorate Gerald S. The National Football Conference – Eastern Division or NFC East is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Sultan Rashad McCullough (born February 12, 1980) is a retired American football running back. He has played in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins and in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the Montreal Alouettes. During his college career, McCullough was also a standout as a sprinter, as he was the 1999 Pac-10 champion in the 100 meter dash. McCullough is regarded as the fastest player ever to play for the USC Trojans. His brother Saladin McCullough also played professional football. Christopher Clemons (born October 30, 1981) is a former American football defensive end. He played college football at Georgia, and signed with the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2003. Clemons has also played for the Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars and the Seattle Seahawks. Early years Clemons attended Griffin High School in Griffin, Georgia, where he was a four-year letterman and three-year starter for the football team. In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for blocking.
