2003 Ontario Nokia Cup
The 2003 Ontario Nokia Cup, Southern Ontario's men's provincial curling championship, was held January 25-February 2 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga. Ottawa's Bryan Cochrane won his lone provincial championship of his career. His rink of Bill Gamble, Ian MacAulay and John Steski would represent Ontario at the 2003 Nokia Brier. The event was boycotted by the Wayne Middaugh and Glenn Howard rinks who were still in a dispute with the Canadian Curling Association Curling Canada (formerly the Canadian Curling Association (CCA)) is a sanctioning body for the sport of Curling in Canada. Mississauga ( ), historically known as Toronto Township, is a city in the Canadian province of Ontario. Heath McCormick
Heath McCormick (born August 7, 1976) is a Canadian-American curler from Sarnia, Ontario. Career McCormick began curling in 1992 as a junior in Ontario. He competed in the Ontario Junior Curling Championships five times, and won in 1996 playing third for Patrick Ferris. That rink represented Ontario at the 1996 Canadian Junior Curling Championships where they lost in a tie-breaker game to Nova Scotia's Rob Sifton. He also competed in the Ontario's men's provincial championships six times and finished as runner-up in 2003. He was part of the winning team in the 2004 Ontario mixed championship. He lost in the final of the 2004 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship to Shannon Kleibrink of Alberta. In 2010, McCormick returned to the United States after he was recruited by Bill Stopera, Martin Sather, and Dean Gemmell to replace Matt Hames, who was retiring, as skip. Joe Frans
Joseph Mark Frans (born July 1, 1975 in Grimsby, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Guelph, Ontario. Frans is most notable for being a two-time provincial champion and for being suspended from competitive curling for cocaine usage. Career Frans obtained fame as a curler in 1991, when he won the provincial school boys championship and the provincial junior mixed championship while curling in Smiths Falls, Ontario. In 1993, Frans won the provincial junior championship while playing in St. Catharines, Ontario. At the 1993 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, his team would finish with a 6-5 record. In 1994, Frans would win a second straight provincial championship, this time with Bradford, Ontario. John Morris (curler)
John C. Morris (born December 16, 1978; nicknamed "Johnny Mo") is a Canadian curler, and two-time Olympic gold medallist from Canmore, Alberta. Morris played third for the Kevin Martin team until April 24, 2013. Morris, author of the book ''Fit to Curl'', is the son of Maureen and Earle Morris, inventor of the "Stabilizer" curling broom. Morris grew up in Gloucester, Ontario (now part of Ottawa) and at the age of five began curling at the Navy Curling Club.
