2003 New Progressive Party Of Puerto Rico Primaries
The 2003 New Progressive Party primaries were the primary elections by which voters of the New Progressive Party (PNP) chose its nominees for various political offices of Puerto Rico, namely the position of governor, for the 2004 general elections. Former Governor Pedro Rosselló was selected as the nominee at the primary elections held on November 9, 2003. He would go on to narrowly lose the 2004 general election against Aníbal Acevedo Vilá, from the Popular Democratic Party (PPD). Jorge De Castro Font
Jorge Adolfo de Castro-Font (born September 10, 1963) is a former Puerto Rican senator and former member of the House of Representatives. Originally, he was a member of the Popular Democratic Party (PPD) but became an independent representative in 2001 after inner disputes with his party. In 2002, he became a member of the New Progressive Party (PNP) and was elected Senator in 2004 and 2008, despite inner struggles within the party and legal issues. In 2008, De Castro Font was arrested by the FBI and subsequently charged with 21 counts of fraud and conspiracy. As a result, he was sentenced to 5 years in federal prison and 3 years probation. José Emilio González Velázquez is a Puerto Rican people, Puerto Rican politician and Senator. He has been a member of the Senate of Puerto Rico since 2004. Puerto Rico Senatorial District III, also known as the Senatorial District of Arecibo, is one of the eight senatorial districts of Puerto Rico. Carmelo Javier Ríos Santiago (born May 21, 1973 in San Juan, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican politician, lawyer and senator. He has been a member of the Senate of Puerto Rico since 2005. Carlos Alberto Díaz Sánchez (born February 6, 1970, in San Juan, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican politician, and former member of the Puerto Rico House of Representatives and Senate. Early years and studies Carlos Díaz was born on February 6, 1970, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Roberto Arango
Roberto Arango-Vinent is an American politician who served in the Senate of Puerto Rico from January 2005 until August 2011 representing the San Juan district for the New Progressive Party of Puerto Rico (NPP), which is a conservative group derived from the Republican Statehood Party. During his tenure, Arango voted for anti-gay legislation several times.
