2003 Iraqi Elite Cup
The 2003 Baghdad Championship ( ar, بطولة بغداد 2003), commonly referred to as the 2003 Iraqi Elite Cup ( ar, كأس النخبة العراقي 2003), was the thirteenth occurrence of the Iraqi Elite Cup, organised by the Iraq Football Association, and the first since it was renamed from ''Mother of all Battles Championship'' to ''Baghdad Championship''. The top eight teams in the league table at the end of round 27 of the cancelled 2002–03 Iraqi First Division competed in the tournament. The competition started on 1 October 2003, with the third place match being cancelled and the final being postponed to 5 January 2004 for security reasons due to crowd trouble that occurred in the semi-finals. Al-Shorta Sports Club ( ar, نادي الشرطة الرياضي, lit=''Police Sports Club'') is an Iraqi sports club based in Al-Rusafa, Baghdad. It has teams in 17 different sports, more than any other Iraqi club, and the best known section of the club is the football team, whose origins date back to 1932. In 1974, following the Iraq Football Association's decision to implement a clubs-only policy for domestic competitions, Al-Shorta were established as a sports club. Ali Marzook
ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib ( ar, عَلِيّ بْن أَبِي طَالِب; 600 – 661 CE) was the last of four Rightly Guided Caliphs to rule Islam (r. 656 – 661) immediately after the death of Muhammad, and he was the first Shia Imam. Al-Saher Ahmed Radhi Stadium ( ar, ملعب الساحر احمد راضي, lit=''Magician Ahmed Radhi Stadium'') is a multi-use stadium in Baghdad, Iraq. It is used mostly for football matches and serves as the home stadium of Al-Karkh. The stadium holds 5,150 people. The stadium was originally called Al-Mansour Local Administration Stadium and was renamed Al-Rasheed Stadium when Al-Rasheed SC took over the ground in 1984. It became known as Al-Karkh Stadium after Al-Karkh replaced the dissolved Al-Rasheed in the top division in 1990. Salih Sadir Salih Al-Sadoun ( ar, صالح سدير صالح السعدون; born 21 August 1981) is an Iraqi former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder.
