2003 ISAF Sailing World Championships
2003 ISAF Sailing World Championships was the first edition of the ISAF Sailing World Championships and was held in Cadiz, Spain from 11 September to 24 September. Venue The venue for the 2003 ISAF Sailing World Championships was Cádiz with three marinas: El Puerto de Santa María for Mistral, Finn, Yngling, Europe, Star, Tornado and 49er, Cádiz for Laser and Rota for 470. Gabrio Zandonà
Gabrio Zandonà (born 11 June 1977 in Rome) is an Italian sailor, world champion in the 470 class in 2003. Biography In 2003 he won gold medal at 470 World Championships in Cadiz (with Andrea Trani) and in 2009 he won gold medal at the Mediterranean Games in Pescara (with Francesco Della Torre). In his career he participated in three editions of the Olympic Games. He and team-mate Pietro Zucchetti came 4th at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Simon John Hiscocks (born 21 May 1973 in Dorking, Surrey) is a British sailor. He won a bronze medal for Great Britain at the 2004 Summer Olympics in the 49er. Christopher Draper (sailor)
Chris Draper (born 20 March 1978) is a British sailor who has won multiple World and European championships and a bronze medal at the Sailing at the 2004 Olympic competing in the mixed 49er. He has been a winner of the Extreme Sailing Series and was helmsman for Luna Rossa, Italy's America's cup challenger 2011 to 2015. In the 34th Americas cup he became the first Britain to helm in the Louis Vuitton cup final. For the ACWS & 35th America's Cup between 2015 and the Cup event in Bermuda in June 2017 he held the position of Sailing Team Manager / Tactician and Wing trimmer for Softbank Team Japan. In 2019 he became CEO and Wing trimmer for the Great Britain team racing in the newly formed SailGP, racing the F50 hydro foiling catamarans in a global racing circuit. Emilia Tsoulfa ( el, Αιμιλία Τσούλφα; born 15 May 1973 in Athens) is a Greek sailor. She has been sailing in Piraeus Sailing Club since she was 12 years old. She participated in over 470 main classes events and won Gold medals in: 2000, 2001, 2002 World and European championships. Also won the bronze medal in 1998 for European championships. At the Olympic Games of 2004 in Athens, Emilia won the gold medal in the sailing competition / Women's double-handed dinghy event in the 470class with her pair Sofia Bekatorou. She has also participated at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and also at 1996 Olympic sailing competition in Atlanta (finished 17th), being at that time the first female Greek sailor at the Olympic games. Sofia Bekatorou ( el, Σοφία Μπεκατώρου; born 26 December 1977) is a Greek sailing champion. She has participated in over hundreds of main class events including 2004 Summer Olympics sailing competition, where she won the gold medal in the women's double-handed dinghy event in the 470 with her pair Emilia Tsoulfa (Greece). After a serious back injury, she won a bronze medal in the yngling keelboat class at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Bekatorou was the first female flag bearer for Greece in the history of Summer Olympics at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, participating in the Olympic Games for the 4th time.
