2002–03 Parma A.C. Season
Parma Associazione Calcio regained its respect following a lacklustre Serie A and Champions League performance the year before. Under new coach Cesare Prandelli, Parma played an offensive 4–3–3 formation, in which new offensive signings Adrian Mutu and Adriano starred. Both made up for the departure of Marco Di Vaio to Juventus. Mutu scored 18 goals from the left wing, and Parma accepted a multimillion-pound offer from Chelsea in the summer, which meant the Romanian international only spent a year at the club. Also impressing were goalkeeper Sébastien Frey and young centre-halves Matteo Ferrari and Daniele Bonera, who proved to be acceptable replacements for departed captain Fabio Cannavaro, who had joined Inter in late August 2002. Parma F
Parma (; egl, Pärma, ) is a city in the northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna known for its architecture, music, art, prosciutto (ham), cheese and surrounding countryside. Marco Di Vaio
Marco Di Vaio (; born 15 July 1976) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a striker. A prolific goalscorer, in his long club career, Di Vaio scored over 200 league goals while playing for several clubs, mainly in Italy, as well as in France, Spain and Canada. Simone Barone
Simone Barone (; born 30 April 1978) is an Italian football manager and former player, who played as a midfielder. He played for several Italian clubs throughout his career, before coming to prominence with Palermo. At international level, he was part of the Italian side that won the 2006 FIFA World Cup, and represented the national side on 16 occasions between 2004 and 2006, scoring once. Club career Barone started his career making his first team debut on 4 May 1997 for Parma, against Atalanta. He then played for Padova of Serie C1 in 1998, Alzano Virescit of Serie B in 1999. Giuseppe Cardone
Giuseppe Cardone (born 3 March 1974) is a retired Italian footballer who played more than 300 games as a defender for a number of clubs in the Italian league. Career Born in Pavia, Cardone played youth football with Lombardy top-flight club A.C. Milan. He was named in the first team squad for the 1992–93 Serie A season as a reserve, but did not play any senior games for the club. He was loaned out in turn to Pavia (in Serie C2) and then Leffe (in Serie C1), Lucchese (in Serie B). In 1996, he was sold to fellow Serie A club Bologna F.C. 1909 in co-ownership deal. He returned to A.C. Milan in June 1997 for reported 2 billion Italian lire, and played 19 games for the club in the 1997–98 Serie A season. Aimo Diana
Aimo Stefano Diana (; born 2 January 1978) is an Italian football manager, currently for Reggiana, and a former player. A player of wide range, he was capable of playing both as a wide midfielder or as a defender on the right flank. Club career Born in Brescia, Diana is a product of Brescia Calcio's youth system. Udinese Calcio, commonly referred to as Udinese, is a professional Football in Italy, Italian association football, football club based in Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, that currently plays in Serie A. Fabio Cannavaro (; born 13 September 1973) is an Italian professional football coach and former player. He is the current head coach of club Benevento. A centre-back, he spent the majority of his career in Italy. He started his career at Napoli before spending seven years at Parma, with whom he won two Coppa Italia titles, the 1999 Supercoppa Italiana, and the 1999 UEFA Cup. Daniele Bonera
Daniele Bonera (; born 31 May 1981) is an Italian retired footballer who played as a centre back. He is currently working as an assistant coach at AC Milan. Prior to joining Spanish Villareal in 2015, with whom he retired in 2019, he had previously played for Italian clubs Brescia, Parma, and in particular Milan, where he won several titles, including the 2010–11 Serie A and the 2006–07 UEFA Champions League. Matteo Ferrari
Matteo Ferrari (; born 5 December 1979) is an Italian former footballer who played as a defender He played top-flight football for several Italian clubs in Serie A, Everton of the Premier League, and for the Montreal Impact in Major League Soccer. He was usually deployed as a centre-back, although he was capable of playing anywhere along the back-line. Ferrari played for Italy at the Summer Olympics in 2000 and 2004, winning Bronze at the latter edition of the tournament.
