2002–03 Cypriot Cup
The 2002–03 Cypriot Cup was the 61st edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 54 clubs entered the competition. It began on 14 September 2002 with the first round and concluded on 17 May 2003 with the final which was held at GSP Stadium. Anorthosis won their 8th Cypriot Cup trophy after beating AEL 5–3 on penalties in the final. Format In the 2002–03 Cypriot Cup, participated all the teams of the Cypriot First Division, the Cypriot Second Division, the Cypriot Third Division and 12 of the 14 teams of the Cypriot Fourth Division. The competition consisted of seven rounds. In the first and in the second round each tie was played as a single leg and was held at the home ground of the one of the two teams, according to the draw results. Each tie winner was qualifying to the next round. If a match was drawn, extra time was following. If extra time was drawn, the winner was decided by penalty shoot-out. Cypriot Cup
The Cypriot Cup () is the main cup competition in Cypriot football, run by the Cyprus Football Association (CFA). It began in 1934, the same season with the Cypriot Championship. It is the second most important competition for Cypriot club teams after Cypriot Championship. Only the Cypriot First Division and the second division teams are participating in the competition. The sponsor of the competition since 1962 is Coca-Cola and thus officially known as Cyprus Coca-Cola Cup. Akritas Chlorakas ( el, Ακρίτας Χλώρακας) is a Cypriot football club based in Chloraka, Paphos. The club was founded in 1971, and currently plays in the Cypriot First Division. Akritas' colours are green and white, and they play their home games at the Chloraka Municipal Stadium. History Founded in 1971, Akritas Chlorakas joined the Cyprus Football Association in 1973, competing in the Cypriot Third Division. For many years, Akritas fluctuated between the Second and Third Division, winning the Third Division a total of three times, and winning the Cypriot Cup for Lower Divisions on one occasion. Anagennisi Deryneia ( el, Αναγέννηση Δερύνειας) is Cypriot football team based in Deryneia, Famagusta. The club was founded in 1920 and they joined the Cyprus Football Association in 1972. The team played in the Cypriot First division in 2011 but was relegated at the end of the season. It has participated in the first and second divisions and Cypriot Third Division in the past. The club also maintains a volleyball team, which is currently playing in the Second Division, having lifted the Cypriot Cup trophy twice in the past. ASIL Lysi ( el, ΑΣΙΛ Λύσης) is a Cypriot football club which was established in the town of Lysi, Famagusta. After the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, ASIL became a refugee team and is temporarily based in Larnaca. The club plays in the Cypriot Third Division.
