Margrethe II Of Denmark
Margrethe II (; Margrethe Alexandrine Þórhildur Ingrid, born 16 April 1940) is Queen of Denmark. Having reigned as Denmark's monarch for over 50 years, she is Europe's longest-serving current head of state and the world's only incumbent female monarch following the death of Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. Born into the House of Glücksburg, a cadet branch of the House of Oldenburg, Margrethe is the eldest child of Frederick IX of Denmark and Ingrid of Sweden. She became heir presumptive to her father in 1953, when a constitutional amendment allowed women to inherit the throne. Margrethe succeeded her father upon his death on 14 January 1972. Camilla Martin
Camilla Martin Nygaard (née Martin; born 23 March 1974) is a retired badminton player from Denmark. She and Lene Køppen, who played two decades earlier, are the only Danish women to have won both the All England and World Championships singles titles. Career She primarily played woman's singles. In that discipline she won the Danish national championships 13 years consecutively, from 1991 to 2003, European champion three times, in 1996, 1998, and 2000, and World champion once in 1999. 2002 FIFA World Cup Group A
Group A was one of eight groups at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. It consisted of defending champions France, two-time winners Uruguay, Denmark and debutants Senegal. The group's first match was played on 31 May 2002 and the last on 11 June 2002. From the outset, it was apparent that the group would not pan out as expected, as Senegal beat France 1–0 in the opening match of the tournament. France followed this with a goalless draw against Uruguay, in a match in which their star striker Thierry Henry was sent off, before rounding out the group with another defeat to Denmark. Jakob Storm Piil (born 9 March 1973) is a Danish former professional road bicycle racer, where he later lived many years in Odense. He is an all-round rider, known for his aggressive style of riding, whose speciality is to pick the right breakaways. He competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics and the 2000 Summer Olympics. He is the cousin of Danish former professional bicycle racer Jørgen V. Pedersen. Biography Piil was born in Virum, Copenhagen. He started his career as a track racer, riding six-day races with shifting partners, including the Danish riders Michael Sandstød, Tayeb Braikia, and Jimmi Madsen. In 1997 he signed up for the RDM professional cycling team, getting only a handful of top-ten results in his first year as a pro.
