2002 Tiger Cup
The 2002 AFF Championship, officially known as the 2002 Tiger Cup, was co-hosted by Indonesia and Singapore from November 2002 to 13 January 2003 and participated by all national teams of the member associations of the ASEAN Football Federation entered except for Brunei. The championship started off with group matches, where the top two teams from each group advanced to the semi-finals and the final. In the final match between Thailand and Indonesia, Thailand took a 2–0 lead against hosts Indonesia by the end of the first half. However, the Indonesians battled back to level the score and force the game into a penalty shootout, which was won 4–2 by the Thais. Bambang Pamungkas (born 10 June 1980), also known as Bepe, is an Indonesian Manager (association football), football manager and former Football player, player. As a footballer, he predominantly played for Persija Jakarta and the Indonesia national football team. His natural position is Forward (association football), striker. Phạm Văn Quyến (born April 29, 1984) is a retired Vietnamese footballer. Since his days as a Vietnamese U-16 international, Quyến was considered one of the most promising young players in Vietnam and a worthy successor to the legendary Lê Huỳnh Đức. Quyến is known for his pace, dribbling ability and shot accuracy and was also a free kick specialist. Nguyễn Minh Phương (born 5 July 1980) is a retired Vietnamese professional footballer who last played for SHB Đà Nẵng in the V-League. He was also the captain of the Vietnam national football team until the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup. Lê Huỳnh Đức (born April 20, 1972 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) is a Vietnamese football manager and former footballer. He is currently serving as technical director for V.League 1 side Saigon.
