San Jose Earthquakes
The San Jose Earthquakes are an American professional soccer team based in San Jose, California. The Earthquakes compete as a member club of the Western Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS). Originally as the San Jose Clash, the franchise began play in 1996 as one of the charter members of the league. The Earthquakes took part in the first game in MLS history, defeating D.C. United 1–0. The Earthquakes have won two MLS Cup titles (2001, 2003) and two Supporters' Shields (2005, 2012). In 2002, the team played in its first CONCACAF Champions Cup (now called the CONCACAF Champions League), making it to the quarterfinals. Ian Russell (soccer)
Ian Russell (born August 30, 1975) is an American soccer coach and former player. He is currently an assistant coach of MLS club San Jose Earthquakes. Career Russell attended the University of Washington on a soccer scholarship and was a three-time (1994, 1996–97) All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation first team selection. He then played for the Seattle Sounders of the USL First Division in 1998 and 1999. He won the offensive MVP award in 1999. Professional playing After being drafted by the Seattle Sounders in 1998, Russell played for two seasons in the USL First Division. In 2000, Russell moved to Polish side Lech Poznań, and played only one game in a league cup. Wade Barrett (soccer)
Wade Barrett (born June 23, 1976) is an American former soccer player. He was most recently the interim head coach of the Houston Dynamo in Major League Soccer. Career College Barrett was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and played college soccer at the College of William and Mary from 1994 to 1997, where he scored thirty-eight goals and twenty-six assists, and was voted an NSCAA All-American in his senior season. Professional Barrett was drafted twelfth overall in the 1998 MLS College Draft by the then- San Jose Clash. Jeffrey Alan Agoos (born May 2, 1968) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a defender. He is one of the all-time appearance leaders for the United States national team. Agoos served as the Sporting Director for the New York Red Bulls, and currently is the Vice President of Competition for Major League Soccer.
