is a swimming venue in Yokohama, Japan. The main pool is converted to a basketball arena in fall and winter by setting up panels on the floor. This Pitch (sports field), sports court can be slippery. Chris Thompson (swimmer)
Christopher Lee Thompson (born November 30, 1978) is an American former competition swimmer who won the bronze medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in the men's 1,500-meter freestyle. He was the second American swimmer to break the 15-minute mark in the 1,500-meter freestyle, and held the American record for four years. He attended the University of Michigan, where he was a member of the Michigan Wolverines swimming and diving team from 1997 to 2001. Both at Michigan and as a post-graduate, Chris swam under coach Jon Urbanchek from 1997 to 2004. He held the NCAA and American records in the 1,650-yard freestyle for eleven years. Currently, he coaches the Plymouth Canton Cruisers swim team in Plymouth, Michigan. Takeshi Matsuda
is a retired Japanese Olympic, Asian and National Record holding swimmer. He swam for Japan at the 2004, 2008 Olympics, 2012 Olympics, and 2016 Olympics, winning four medals. At the 2008 Olympics, he won a bronze medal in the men's 200 m butterfly in an Asian Record of 1:52.97; in doing so, he also set the Japanese Record in the event. On November 12, 2011, Matsuda set a new Japanese record (1:49.50) at the FINA World Cup for the short course 200 m butterfly. In doing so, he became just the third swimmer in history to break the 1:50 barrier for the event. Career Early Years Matsuda was born in the rural town of Nobeoka, Miyazaki, where he began swimming at the age of 4 at a local pool. Since then, he has trained with the same coach, Yumiko Kuze, a rare female coach in the world of men's swimming. Bruno Bonfim (born 18 May 1979 in Anápolis) is a middle-distance freestyle swimmer from Brazil, who competed for his native country at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. A year earlier, he won the bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. At the 2000 FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m) in Athens, Bonfim went to the 4×200-metre freestyle final, finishing in 8th place. He also finished 22nd in the 400-metre freestyle. Craig Julian Stevens (born 23 July 1980) is an Australian former freestyle swimmer specialising in the 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle events. He was an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder. Stevens was the bronze medallist in the 1500m freestyle event at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, but he narrowly missed out on a medal in the 400m freestyle, finishing 4th. In 2004, Stevens made his Olympic Games debut at Athens. There, he won silver as part of the Australian 4×200m relay team and also made the final in the 1500m. He relinquished his place in the 400m freestyle for world record holder Ian Thorpe, who had been disqualified from the event at the Australian trials. Stevens was initially left out of the Australian team for the 2006 Commonwealth Games in his home country. Grant George Hackett OAM (born 9 May 1980) is an Australian swimmer, most famous for winning the men's 1500 metres freestyle race at both the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. This achievement has led him to be regarded as one of the greatest distance swimmers in history. He also collected a gold medal in Sydney for swimming in the heats of the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay. He was well regarded for his versatility, and has held the long course world records in the 200 m, 800 m, and 1500 m freestyle events. He dominated the 1500 m event for a decade, being undefeated in the event in finals from 1996 until the 2007 World Aquatics Championships.
