2002 MLS Dispersal Draft
The 2002 Major League Soccer SuperDraft was held on February 10, 2002 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. One month earlier, MLS had contracted two clubs: Tampa Bay Mutiny and Miami Fusion. In conjunction with the contraction, the league conducted both an allocation draft and a dispersal draft in which the top 2002 SuperDraft picks of Tampa Bay and Miami, as well as players from those clubs, were made available to remaining MLS clubs. Allocation draft MLS distributed the players of the Miami Fusion and the Tampa Bay Mutiny to the rest of the league via an allocation draft that took place on January 11, 2002, where teams with excess allocations were allowed to select from their players; the participants and the selection order for the draft were announced three days before the draft was conducted. Lake Buena Vista, Florida
Lake Buena Vista () is a city in Orange County, Florida, United States. It is mostly known for being the mailing address for Walt Disney World—although almost all of the resort facilities, including all four theme parks, are physically located in the adjacent city of Bay Lake. Nick Rimando
Nicholas Paul Rimando (born June 17, 1979) is an American retired soccer player who last played as a goalkeeper for Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer and the United States national team. He holds the Major League Soccer records for career wins, shutouts, saves, and overall appearances. Youth and college Rimando was born in Montclair, California and attended Montclair High School. Chris Henderson
Christopher Henderson (born December 11, 1970) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a midfielder. Tyrone Everton Marshall (born 12 November 1974) is a retired Jamaican footballer and current head coach of FC Cincinnati 2, the reserve team of Major League Soccer's FC Cincinnati. Steve Ralston (born June 14, 1974) is an American retired soccer player and manager who played as a midfielder. Carlos Llamosa (born June 30, 1969) is an American retired soccer player who played as a defender. He currently serves as an assistant coach for the Portland Timbers. Early life and education Llamosa began his professional soccer career in 1986 with Colombian third division club Colmena. In 1990, he moved to Colombian first division side Huila. Diego Alonso Serna Lopera (born October 2, 1973) is a Colombian football player who last played for Miami Dade FC. He is the all-time leading scorer for the now-defunct Miami Fusion of Major League Soccer.
