2002 Indianapolis Colts
The 2002 season was the Indianapolis Colts' 50th in the National Football League (NFL) and 19th in Indianapolis. The Colts made it to the playoffs after a one-year absence in 2001 when they finished with a 6–10 record. This was the first of nine consecutive playoff appearances for the Colts. The 2002 season marked the first for the Colts in the newly formed AFC South after competing for 32 seasons in the AFC East. The season is memorable for the team hiring former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Tony Dungy. He would later take the Colts to Super Bowl XLI after a successful 2006 season. In the Wildcard round, the Colts were soundly embarrassed by the New York Jets, as they ended up losing the game 41–0. AFC South
The American Football Conference – Southern Division or AFC South is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It was created before the 2002 NFL season, 2002 season when the league realigned divisions after expanding to 32 teams. Walt Harris (cornerback)
Walter Lee Harris (born August 10, 1974) is a former American football cornerback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for thirteen seasons. He played college football for Mississippi State University and was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the first round (13th overall) in the 1996 NFL Draft. He played for the Bears for six years and was then signed as a free agent by the Indianapolis Colts in 2002. He then signed with Washington Redskins in 2004. Larry Moore (American Football)
Larry Maceo Moore (born June 1, 1975) is a former American football player in the National Football League (NFL). Moore was a two-year starter at Brigham Young University earning first-team All- WAC honors as a junior and senior. In 1997, he spent time with the Washington Redskins and the Seattle Seahawks. He then played for the Indianapolis Colts before returning to the Redskins. He became Washington's starting center in 2002 in all 16 games, replacing Cory Raymer. Stephen Michael McKinney (born October 15, 1975) is a former offensive guard in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fourth round of the 1998 NFL Draft. Jerome Pathon (born December 16, 1975) is a South African-born Canadian American football coach and former wide receiver who played eight seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Jeffrey Lamar Burris (born June 6, 1972) is an American football coach and former professional football player who was a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons. Detron Nigel Smith (born February 25, 1974) is a former American football fullback in the NFL. After his college career at Texas A&M University, he moved to the NFL and played primarily for the Denver Broncos. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1999. Terrence Olondo Wilkins (born July 29, 1975) is a former American football wide receiver and return specialist for the Indianapolis Colts.
