2002 French Open
The 2002 French Open was the second Grand Slam event of 2002 and the 106th edition of the French Open. It took place at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France, from late May through early June, 2002. Both Gustavo Kuerten and Jennifer Capriati were unsuccessful in defending their 2001 titles; Kuerten was defeated in the fourth round by eventual champion Albert Costa, and Capriati was defeated by eventual champion Serena Williams in the semi-finals. Costa won his only Grand Slam title, defeating compatriot Juan Carlos Ferrero in the final. Serena Williams defeated her sister Venus to win her second Grand Slam title, her first French Open title, and the first of four consecutive Grand Slams in what was to be called the "Serena Slam". Ryan Henry (born 14 October 1984) is a former professional tennis player from Australia. Henry had an eventful year as a junior in 2002. Angelique Widjaja (; born 12 December 1984) is a retired Indonesian professional tennis player. She won the junior championships at Wimbledon in 2001, defeating Dinara Safina. 2004 French Open
The 2004 French Open was the 108th edition of the tournament. Gastón Gaudio became the first men's Open Era Grand Slam title winner to save two match points in the final; the last time that had happened was 70 years earlier. Gaudio also became the first Argentina, Argentine man since Guillermo Vilas to win a Grand Slam (tennis), grand slam, in 1979.
