The 2002 FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup was the 18th FIBA Africa Basketball Club Championship, an international basketball tournament held in Luanda, Angola from November 30 to December 7, 2002. The tournament, organized by FIBA Africa and hosted by C.D. Primeiro de Agosto, was contested by 7 clubs, in a round robin system. Primeiro De Agosto Basketball
Clube Desportivo Primeiro de Agosto is an Angolan men's basketball team based in Luanda. The team is part of the multi-sports club with the same name. The club is attached to the Angolan Armed Forces which is its main sponsor. The team competes at the local level at the Luanda Provincial Basketball Championship and at the BIC Basket. In the past, it has played in the Africa Basketball League competitions. Primeiro de Agosto is the most decorated team in Africa and holds the record of titles won in the African Basketball Club Champions League with nine championships, their last one being in 2019. Pavilhão Da Cidadela
Pavilhão da Cidadela is an Angolan indoor sporting arena located in Luanda, Angola. The capacity of the arena is 6,873 people. Miguel Lutonda
Miguel Pontes Timóteo Lutonda, 186 cm/´6'1", 78 kg/72 lbs, (born December 24, 1971) is a retired Angolan professional basketball point guard. For two consecutive years: 2001 and 2002, he received the Angola Sportsman of the Year Award. He is a two-time FIBA Africa Championship MVP, having won such title in 2001 and 2003. He was also voted MVP at the 2003 Angolan league. On October 17, 2012, Lutonda played his last official match for Primeiro de Agosto, in a game against Recreativo do Libolo for the Victorino Cunha Cup. At the end of the game, his 14 jersey was retired by Primeiro de Agosto. Ângelo Victoriano
Ângelo Monteiro dos Santos Victoriano (born 8 February 1968 in Luanda) is a former Angolan basketball player. He was listed at 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m) and 247 lbs. (112 kg). Victoriano was inducted to the FIBA Basketball Hall of Fame in 2023. Victoriano appeared on four Angolan Olympic basketball teams (in 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2004), serving as captain in his final appearance. At the club level, he won a total of 11 national championship titles, one with ASA, four with Petro Atlético and six with Primeiro de Agosto. He won ten Angolan Cups, eight Super Cups and two Africa Club Championships with Primeiro de Agosto. His brothers, Edmar Victoriano and Puna Victoriano, also played for Angola's national basketball team. Victoriano is the only African player, to have won eight FIBA Africa championships, ahead of Jean-Jacques Conceição, and Carlos Almeida, both with seven.
