2002 ACC Trophy
The 2002 ACC Trophy was a cricket tournament held from 10 to 21 July 2002 in Singapore. It gave Associate and Affiliate members of the Asian Cricket Council experience of international Limited overs cricket, one-day cricket and also helped form an essential part of regional rankings. The tournament was won by the United Arab Emirates national cricket team, United Arab Emirates, who defeated Nepal national cricket team, Nepal in the final by six wickets. This was the UAE's second consecutive title. Asian Cricket Council
The Asian Cricket Council also known as ACC is a cricket organisation which was established in 1983, to promote and develop the sport of cricket in Asia. Subordinate to the International Cricket Council, the council is the continent's regional administrative body, and currently consists of 26 member associations. Jay Shah is the current president of Asian Cricket Council. History The council was formed as the Asian Cricket Conference in New Delhi, India, on 19 September 1983, with the original members being Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. Changing its name to the present in 1995. Until 2003, the headquarters of the council were rotated biennially amongst the presidents' and secretaries' home countries. The organisation's current president is Jay Shah, who is also the Secretary of the BCCI. Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma, AC (born 13 January 1949) is a former Indian Air Force pilot who flew aboard Soyuz T-11 on 3 April 1984 as part of the Soviet Interkosmos programme. He is the only Indian citizen to travel in space, although there have been other astronauts with some Indian background who were not Indian citizens. Mehboob Alam ( ne, मेहबूब आलम) (born 31 August 1981) is a Nepalese cricketer. All-rounder Mehboob is a left-handed batsman and a left-arm fast bowler. He made his debut for Nepal against Japan in November 2000.
