2001–02 Thai League
The 2001-02 Thai Premier League consisted of 12 teams. The bottom three clubs would be relegated and three teams promoted from the Thailand Division 1 League. Champions BEC Tero Sasana would enter edition the next edition of the AFC Champions League. The league was restructured, to be played between October 2001 and April 2002. The league was also known as the GSM Thai League. Thai Premier League
The Thai League 1 ( th, ไทยลีก 1), often referred to as T1, is the top level of the Thai football league system. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Thai League 2. Seasons run from August to May, with each team playing 30 games (playing all 15 other teams both home and away). It is sponsored by Toyota Motor Thailand and therefore officially known as the Hilux Revo Thai League. In the Thai League, most of the games are played during Saturdays and Sundays, with a few games played on Wednesdays and Fridays. Thailand Division 1 League
Thai League 2 ( th, ไทยลีก 2), commonly known as the T2, formally called Thai Division 1 League, is the second-tier professional league in the Thai football league system. The top 3 are promoted to Thai League 1 at the end of the season, whilst four are relegated to Thai League 3. For the 2008 season, the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) reduced the number of teams in the league to 16 teams. Previously there had been two groups of 12 clubs. For the 2011 season the number of teams was increased to 18 teams, The Thai Division 1 League is a season run from March to October, with teams playing 34 games each totalling 306 games in the season. In 2016, the Khǒr Royal Cup became a trophy for Thai Division 1 League. In 2017 the Football Association of Thailand changed the name to Thai League 2. Attaphol Buspakom
Attaphol Buspakom ( th, อรรถพล ปุษปาคม; ), nicknamed "Tak" ( th, แต๊ก; ); 1 October 1962 – 16 April 2015) was a Thai national and football coach. He was given the role at Muangthong United and Buriram United after TTM Samut Sakhon folded after the 2009 season. He played for the Thailand national football team, appearing in several FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. Club career Attaphol began his career as a player at Thai Port FC Authority of Thailand in 1985. In his first year, he won his first championship with the club. He played for the club until 1989 and in 1987 also won the Queen's Cup. He then moved to Malaysia for two seasons for Pahang FA, then return to Thailand to his former club. Kashima Antlers
are a football club in Kashima, Ibaraki, currently playing in the J1 League, top tier of Japanese professional football leagues. The Queen's Cup was an annual football cup competition in Thailand, run by the Football Association of Thailand. The competition was named after Queen Sirikit. Thai Farmers Bank Football Club ( th, สโมสรฟุตบอลธนาคารกสิกรไทย) was a Thai football club based in Bangkok and was owned by Thai Farmers Bank. They won two AFC Champions League titles in 1994 and 1995. Due to the 1997 Asian financial crisis, the club sponsor's stock price dropped 49%, which resulted in them being taken over by foreign investors.
