The 2001–02 Ranji Trophy was the 68th season of the Ranji Trophy. Baroda and Railways played the final again but Railways won their first Ranji title. This was the last season played under the zonal format. Board Of Control For Cricket In India
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the national governing body for cricket in India. Its headquarters are situated at Cricket centre, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The BCCI is the richest governing body of cricket in the world and is part of the ''Big Three'' of international cricket, along with Cricket Australia and the England and Wales Cricket Board. Delhi Cricket Team
The Delhi cricket team is a first-class cricket team based in Delhi, run by the Delhi District Cricket Association, that plays in India's first class competition, the Ranji Trophy and limited-overs Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. They have won the Ranji Trophy seven times and have been runners-up eight. Their latest title in 2007-08 came after a long wait of 16 years. Hyderabad Cricket Team
The Hyderabad cricket team is a domestic cricket team based in the city of Hyderabad, Telangana, run by the Hyderabad Cricket Association. It is part of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group and has seen scattered success over its many years in the Ranji Trophy circuit. Over its long history in the Ranji Trophy it has won twice and come runner up three times and has made one appearance in the Irani Trophy. Competition history Hyderabad was the third team in the history of the Ranji Trophy to win the tournament, when it did so in the 1937/38 tournament, beating defending champions Nawanagar in a nailbiting one wicket victory. Andhra Cricket Team
The Andhra cricket team is an Indian domestic cricket team representing the South India state of Andhra Pradesh. The team's main home ground is Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy International Cricket Stadium at Visakhapatnam, while some home matches are also played at Anantapur and Kadapa. Overview The Andhra Cricket Association was formed in 1951. Saurashtra cricket team is one of the three first-class cricket teams based in Gujarat (the others being Baroda and Gujarat) that compete in the first-class tournament Ranji Trophy and limited-overs Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Gujarat Cricket Team
The Gujarat cricket team is one of three first-class cricket teams representing the state of Gujarat (the other two being the Baroda cricket team and Saurashtra cricket team). Led by Parthiv Patel, Gujarat won their maiden Ranji Trophy title in the 2016–17 season, beating Mumbai in the final at Indore. The Baroda cricket team is a domestic cricket team based in the city of Baroda. The home ground of the team is the Moti Bagh Stadium on the palace grounds. The Mumbai cricket team is a cricket team representing the city of Mumbai in Indian domestic cricket. The team's primary home ground is the Wankhede Stadium in South Mumbai. Services Cricket Team
The Services cricket team plays in the Ranji Trophy, the main domestic first-class cricket competition in India. Under the auspices of the Services Sports Control Board, they represent the Indian Armed Forces. Their home ground is the Palam A Ground, Model Sports Complex, Delhi. Records The Services team first played in the Ranji Trophy in 1949–50. They played in the North Zone of the competition until 2001–02, and have played in the Plate Group and other lower-ranked groups since 2002–03, except for one season, where they played in the Elite Group, during 2005–06. Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Team
The Jammu and Kashmir cricket team is a cricket team based in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, run by JKCA. It is in the Elite Group C of the Ranji Trophy. Its main home ground is the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar, and it also plays at Gandhi Memorial Science College Ground in Jammu. History Jammu and Kashmir first took part in the Ranji Trophy in 1959-60. Until recent seasons it had always been one of the weaker teams. Its first victory did not come until the 1982-83 season, when it defeated Services by four wickets.
