2001–02 Cupa României
The 2001–02 Cupa României was the 64th edition of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. The title was won by Rapid București against Dinamo București. Format The competition is an annual knockout tournament. First round proper matches are played on the ground of the lowest ranked team, then from the second round proper the matches are played on a neutral location. If a match is drawn after 90 minutes, the game goes into extra time, where it works golden goal rule. If the match is still tied, the result is decided by penalty kicks. In the semi-finals, each tie is played as a two legs. From the first edition, the teams from Divizia A entered in competition in sixteen finals, rule which remained till today. FC Rapid București
Fotbal Club Rapid 1923, commonly known as Rapid București () or simply as Rapid, is a Romanian professional football club based in Bucharest, which competes in the Liga I. It was founded in 1923 by employees of the Grivița workshops as ''Asociația Culturală și Sportivă CFR'' ("CFR Cultural and Sports Association"). Domestically, Rapid București is one of the most successful clubs in the country, having won three national titles, 13 Cupa României and four Supercupa României. Internationally, its highest achievements are reaching the quarter-finals of the 1972–73 Cup Winners' Cup and of the 2005–06 UEFA Cup, and the final of the 1940 Mitropa Cup, the latter not being played because of the Second World War. Asociația Fotbal Club Astra Giurgiu (), commonly known as Astra Giurgiu or simply Astra, was a Romanian football club based in the city of Giurgiu, Giurgiu County. Founded in 1921 in Ploiești as ''Clubul Sportiv Astra-Română'', it spent the majority of its history in the lower leagues. On 19 October 2022, the club was officially shut down. Astra only began to achieve success in the late 1990s under the ownership of businessman Ioan Niculae, having reached the top flight for the first time in 1998. In 2012, after more than nine decades in Prahova County, it moved its home ground south to Giurgiu, a city at the border with Bulgaria. U Craiova 1948, commonly known as FC U Craiova 1948 or FC U Craiova, is a Romanian professional football club based in Craiova, Dolj County, which competes in the Liga I. It is along with CS Universitatea Craiova one of the two entities asserting the history of the original Universitatea Craiova football team, which between 1948 and 1991 won four national titles and five national cups. During the latter year, when the sports club dissolved its football department, ''FC Universitatea Craiova'' took its place in the top flight. AS Cimentul Fieni
Cimentul Fieni was a professional Romanian association football club from Fieni, Dâmbovița County, founded in 1936 and dissolved in 2005. The club was dissolved in 2005 after a merger with a club from Buftea, the resulting club being named CS Buftea. Cimentul never reached Liga I. Fotbal Club Bihor Oradea (), commonly known as Bihor Oradea or simply as FC Bihor, was a Romanian professional football club based in Oradea, Bihor County. It was founded under the name of ''Crișul Oradea'' in April 1958 and from 1963 it continued the football tradition of the city, following the dissolution of Club Atletic Oradea. In the 57 seasons spent in the Romanian football league system, FC Bihor played 18 seasons in the first division, 39 seasons in the second league and only 5 seasons in the lower leagues, respectively 4 in the Liga III and only one season, its first, in the fourth tier.
