Season summary A disappointing season for Crewe resulted in relegation after five seasons in the second tier of English football. Crewe () is a railway town and civil parishes in England, civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East in Cheshire, England. The Crewe built-up area had a total population of 75,556 in 2011, which also covers parts of the adjacent civil parishes of Willaston, Cheshire East, Willaston, Shavington cum Gresty and Wistaston. Crewe is perhaps best known as a large railway junction and home to Crewe Works; for many years, it was a major railway engineering facility for manufacturing and overhauling locomotives, but now much reduced in size. Colin Little
Colin Campbell Little (born 4 November 1972) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker. After starting in non-league football with Rossendale United and Hyde United, Little joined Crewe Alexandra in 1996. He had loan spells with Mansfield Town and Macclesfield Town, and later made his stay in Macclesfield permanent. Little made eight appearances for Halifax Town before joining Altrincham in 2004 – where he went on to make over 200 appearances for the club. He later played for F.C. United of Manchester, Altrincham, New Mills and Witton Albion. Little worked as an Under-15s coach during his time at Crewe Alexandra, and joined Manchester United as an Under-13s coach in 2009. Stephen John Foster (born 18 September 1980) is a retired English footballer. Career Born in Warrington, Cheshire, Foster signed for local club Crewe Alexandra as a trainee in August 1997 and made his debut just over a year later in Crewe's 1–0 loss at Bury on 22 August 1998. He made his second appearance the following month in Crewe's 1–1 draw at Bristol City on 16 September 1998. Foster played no first team games for Crewe during the 1999–2000 season, but started the following season by scoring his first goal for Crewe, in the 84th minute of a 2–2 draw with Bury on 22 August 2000 ( Mark Rivers scored Crewe's second goal two minutes later). It took four seasons before Foster received his first red card - in Crewe's 2–1 loss at Gresty Road against Oldham Athletic on 29 December 2002. Kenneth Vincent Lunt (born 20 November 1979) is an English retired professional footballer and current football coach, who works for Crewe Alexandra as player development manager. Lunt previous played for Crewe, Sheffield Wednesday, Hereford United and Bala Town. Rodney Jack
Rodney Jack (born 18 September 1972) is a former professional footballer from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. He is best known for his spells with Torquay United and Crewe Alexandra. He has also played internationally for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines national football team. Career Jack was born in Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. He was spotted by Torquay United manager Don O'Riordan when playing for Lambada, a Caribbean select side. O'Riordan signed him for the Gulls on 10 October 1995. He joined Newcastle United on trial in September 1996, Kevin Keegan offering £250,000 for him, but the deal fell through due to problems with his work permit.
