During the 2001–02 Dutch football season, AFC Ajax competed in the Eredivisie. Season summary Manager Co Adriaanse was sacked in late November after some poor results, including elimination from the Champions League and UEFA Cup. His replacement, Ronald Koeman, led Ajax to the league and cup double. André Bergdølmo
André Bergdølmo (born 13 October 1971) is a Norwegian former football defender. He was capable of playing in all defensive positions on the field, and while most often taking up a position on the left side, his favourite was that of right full back. Bergdølmo began his senior career at Lillestrøm in 1991, before transferring to Rosenborg for a fee of ahead of the 1997 season. From there, he went on to play for clubs in the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark, over a period of seven years from 2000 to 2007. He then returned to Norway, spending the final two years of his career at Strømsgodset. Upon retiring at the end of the 2008 season, Bergdølmo had won the League Championship seven times with three clubs, and earned 63 caps for the Norway national football team. Joseph Anthony Didulica (; born 14 October 1977) is a Croatian Australian former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. On 11 October 2011 he ended his career after ongoing neck and head complaints. Club career Didulica was born in Geelong, Victoria to a Croatian father, Luka, and a Croatian-Australian mother, Mary. He also has an older brother, John and sister, Trish. His father emigrated to Australia from Poličnik, a village in northern Dalmatia, about 10 kilometres outside of Zadar. Didulica started to play football in the North Geelong Warriors. In 1996, he moved to the Melbourne Knights, a club whose team primarily consists of Australian Croats, and played for them until 1999. Ahmed Hossam Hussein Abdelhamid Wasfi ( ar, أحمد حسام حسين عبد الحميد وصفي; born 23 February 1983), publicly known as Mido ( ar, ميدو), is an Egyptian football manager and former player who played as a striker. Mido started his career with Zamalek in Egypt in 1999. He left the club for Gent of Belgium in 2000, where he won the Belgian Ebony Shoe. This led to a move to Dutch side Ajax in 2001, from where he joined Celta Vigo on loan in 2003. His next destination was Marseille in France and he left them for Italian side Roma in 2004. He joined English side Tottenham Hotspur on an 18-month loan in 2005 and eventually joined the club permanently in 2006. He left the club in 2007 to join Middlesbrough, from whom he joined Wigan Athletic, Zamalek, West Ham United and Ajax on loan. In 2011, he rejoined Zamalek, before joining Barnsley in 2012. Richard Knopper
Richard Knopper (born 29 August 1977) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Club career Born in Rijswijk, Knopper began his career with Feyenoord but, still in his youth, moved to rivals AFC Ajax, making his official debut in November 1997 against Sparta Rotterdam. In 1999, he was voted by club supporters as ''Most Talented Player'', receiving the ''Marco van Basten Trophy''; the following year he scored 15 Eredivisie goals as a midfielder, but his team could only finish fifth. A regular under Jan Wouters, Knopper saw his playing time reduce when Co Adriaanse took over as head coach in 2000. He was sidelined with injury for almost the entire season, playing only eight matches that year and appearing slightly more in the following, which would be his last. Andy van der Meijde, anglicised to van der Meyde (; born 30 September 1979) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a winger. After making a name for himself at Ajax, he went on to represent Inter Milan and Everton, his spell at the latter club being cut short due to several problems, both on and off the pitch. A full international between 2002 and 2004, he won 17 caps and scored one goal for the Dutch national team. He represented his country at UEFA Euro 2004.
