Nîmes
Nîmes ( , ; oc, Nimes ; Latin: ''Nemausus'') is the prefecture of the Gard department in the Occitanie region of Southern France. Located between the Mediterranean Sea and Cévennes, the commune of Nîmes has an estimated population of 148,561 (2019). Dubbed the most Roman city outside Italy, Nîmes has a rich history dating back to the Roman Empire when the city had a population of 50,000–60,000 and was the regional capital. Julien Pillet
Julien Pillet (born 28 September 1977 in Dijon, Côte-d'Or) is a French sabre fencer. He is a three-time Olympic medalist as he won the gold in the team event at the 2004 Summer Olympics and also at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He also won the silver medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics, again in the sabre team event. He finished 4th in the individual sabre event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Pillet won the individual bronze medal at the 2006 European Seniors Fencing Championship and the gold medal in the sabre team event at the 2006 World Fencing Championships after beating Spain in the final. He accomplished this with his teammates Vincent Anstett, Nicolas Lopez and Boris Sanson. Hugues Obry (born 19 May 1973) is a retired French fencer and current coach. He won a gold medal in team épée at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, together with Érik Boisse, Fabrice Jeannet and Jérôme Jeannet. He won two silver medals at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Following his victory at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he was made a ''chevalier of the Légion d'honneur''.
